Oh come on. Can't they hit you up there?
What do you think of the new water?
If player sit down low level monsters can reach him, otherwise only Bloats and Sirens can (may be flashpounds). Handrails should be slightly lower.

Water flowing from the dam looks normal. Water flowing to the dam looks difference.

Both were changed and have waves now. The difference between them is that the one on the lower side is see-through and moves in a direction and the one at the top is opaque and doesn't flow in a specific direction.

Opaque water looks more like mercury.
Pity that the waves are just textured, but looks nice.

the map improves more and more.

+if the rails blocking zeds remove them but dont remove the border on the grait.
+the falling rocks are perfect now.
+the new water is very nice. i like to step into the river to feel the cool, clear water on my feets while the sun is shining on my head. very beautyfull.

little tweaks on the foam:

remove the foam that moves in the direction of the arrows. its not nessesary. all other foam is very realistic.

foam tweak 2:

i suggest slower movement and more opacity. lets say 20 - 30% of full visibility. maybe lower. its still water, moved by the gentle wind that is blowing.
alternative to the foam: little splash emitters where the rocks fall into the water. it doesnt have to be in sync with the falling rocks. if its possible to syc them do it. if not i guess its enough to give them the same timing and fequenc of apearing.

two major downs:
-still no helis visible for client. did u ever played ur map as client on a server? u know my suggestion about that;)
-server crash on mapchange. thats what maksimus tries to point out.

I'll adjust the foam as you suggested. At least the one in the main river.

1st issue: I can't join my own dedicated server yet but I'm working on it.
2nd issue: I have absolutely no idea or even so much as a clue as to what's causing it except that it seems to be a garbage collection issue. How my maps are causing it, I don't know.:(

Hi Murphy. I am putting V3 on my servers if you need to play it. I am currently uploading. Then I will have to reset if the servers are empty. Gives you a couple more options. I have a hard server and normal. If you want you can add me to steam. Send me a link for updated versions and I will put it on the servers for you. Just takes time to download then reset. I have redirect built in so it would make it faster for people to download.

I figured the helis and pods out now. To be able to join my own server I had to set Steam to Online (I had it running in offline mode). The problem of them not showing up wasn't caused by the emitters themselves but because of how I triggered them. I triggered them with a normal trigger although emitters have to be triggered with network-triggers.

Played your map tonight. With about 3 people. It looks outstanding. I love the graphics. I played it on Hard mode. Defeated the Patriarch.

The choppers did not appear on my dedicated servers either. I could see the zeds coming and hear the chopper sound. However no pods or choppers.

There was only one thing I did not really like. So please do not take offense. Like I said it was a very nice looking map. However very easy to play. Did not feel challenged at playing it. I almost killed the Patriarch with just my Katana. Until I fell off the steps and died. My team mates finished him off. Seemed like we just hung out in the middle of the lower bridge. Hardly ever went to the inside unless we had a zed we needed to find. We went in there on wave 11 with the Patriarch. Was chasing him down. All I needed was a Katana and a crossbow and I could sit all day. It felt like it needed a couple traders inside. Even though the other 2 where pretty close. Just to get people inside. Then have pressure on them. If they wanted to get back out then they had to fight out.

Other then that one thing I loved the looks and the textures. Just felt like I could be more challened. Especially playing it on hard. Not sure what you have the zombie zones set at for spawning. 1.5 is the normal. Even if you adjusted it so they spawned more so you felt under pressure. Maybe 1.0. I dont know.

Hey

No problem. I was trying to give feedback. Like I said the map looked great and I envy your talent. It is touchy sometimes leaving feedback since I am new to mapping. Especially senior mappers. Unless it is some type of glitch. I know maps are there babies. How much time is put into them. However as a player well I am a well seasoned for playing First Person Shooters. I want the eye candy and the tension of playing and having fun.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the feedback. At this point there just isn't much I can do to amp up the difficulty except altering the spawning of zombies and I can only do so much with that.

did the server crash on mapchange? i assume he doesnt otherwise u had mention it. right?

dextronaut found a way to spawn the zeds faster than ususal. in his map grevona he uses this parameter. this is a mighty tool to overwhelm the players and make em run;)

cant wait to play the new version.

No, unfortunately the crash is still there and will probably stay. It's still a complete mystery to me.:(

I only have today to work on it because tonight I'm driving to the airport and flying off to a vacation and I'll only return next Friday. A friend of mine is going to submit the map to the competition for me.

this map is IMPRESSIVE!

played it (with special sever command) with 9 people.
the spawning with helis and droppods was so cool.
one of them yelled "INCOMING" when ever he heard the sound of the choppers.

that was the real deal!

one small gameplay issue:
zeds NEED to spawn in the middle of the lower bridge. otherwise this place is a safe spot. simply let a chopper drop a bunch of them there.

THE showstoper:
crash @ mapchange
if u cant squash this one or find someone who can ur map is lost.

sorry for beeing this brutal honest , but no server host will put this map in a mapcircle if it ends it.:(

otherwise one of the favorites in the in the second round of grindhouse.

go crazy with the spawns, 200-300 min dist to player, and then change level rules to .5 for respawn.

there is tons of stuff you can do...like dex said,

set the distance, to about 150-300

Also you can doubble up your spawns, so mobs spawn instead of just a small group at a time
