I see the trader pathing issue has already been mentioned but that's my only problem with this map.

I think this map is beautiful and incredibly fun to play on. I've already memorized how to reach each trader but when new players play on my server, they can't figure it out.

As was already stated, one trader is on the other side of the lake. The pathing tells you to go straight through the river which is just not possible. You have to go either through the caves on the right, or across the lack on the left.

Aside from that, I love this map. It's wonderful and incredibly fun to play on once you're playing with regulars who know about this issue and how to reach the trader. If this was fixed, it would give players new to this map a chance to enjoy it instead of ragequitting the server when they can't find the trader due to broken pathing.

The pathing issue was fixed quite some time ago, it has not been released yet because I'm waiting for some code to be implemented in the KF update.

Hopefully it will be in the next update and not the one after. The code will greatly improve this map and hopefully many other maps offical and custom alike.

PS. I'm glad that you like the map as it is my Fav KF map and Would like to see it come up in the server browser more often.

Version 1.9 released

V1.9:
-Fixed pathing issues
-Improved spawning around the cabins and long cave
-Added story
-Trader Pathing should now go around the lake
-Improved spawning in the Lake
-Fixed the skybox + new elements

-Removed player respawning system from V1.8. This was 99% complete but I couldn't finish it, very frustraiting.

-Removed unfinished decorations / models.

And here it is finally the next release...sorry for the long wait I went off and did quite a few other maps which have also not been released.

As always if you find any issues with the map then please let me know so that it can be improved.

Dude, rip MY head off (Or Facehug) seriously, because I am disappoint that either my server has decided to turn ghey on me or something is seriously wrong with this version of Crystal Lake.

There's no story...that was the first flag that i was like hmm...


Ignore numbnuts over there, I'm pretty sure that Heli was supposed to take off and leave, not sit there and be able to go through it, last version I think it left...


Zeds are being stuck by a very noticable wall, that separates the length we can go to the water, to where they spawn from. We also can't shoot them, some nades like Napalm ones can barely scratch them.

And that's just me setting a friend on fire


People thought the walls were made out of cheese or something



After this map I have tried, restarting the map, restarting Level, restarting server, nope nope and nope.

Hope the last version isn't off the whitelist, cause the guys are gonna have to go without their Crystal Lake for a while, its impossible to pass with the Zeds stuck.

Aww, I wanted to see the respawn system at least, an attempt to work but oh well.

This is a shame - the system works however it changes the player spawn location a split second too late and since the player has nowhere to spawn he will respawn at ANY point in the map.

If the trader gave off an event at the start of a wave or even if players respawned a few seconds later then the system would work great.

I know it's a bummer but there you go :(. I did ask Xienen about making the feature official and although he was interested (Nov 2009) the feature never came.

It seems that you are having problems with a few of my maps and I would like to get these issues resolved, sadly I don't get much time on KF anymore mainly due to the fact that I've been making my own game and I don't have any Beta testers for my KF stuff to help me out.

I'll PM you a link to a Beta Crystal Lake which you guys can test out for me. If it works on your server then it should work on everyone else's.

Yeah we had a friday the 13th party last friday. And the map had so many errors we had to remove it. Too bad though cous we had Jason walking around on it too. :(

Well, meh, we'll manage. XD Its the effort that counts.

Oh, well, I just didn't want to bug you about your maps...just they are soo good. X< That's good to hear, hope it turns out well for you, but don't get too caught up in your project, feel free to take short, ***** breaks sometimes. Helps clear heads XD

I'd be happy to help you out, I'll have it running in the morning, as I had a late shift, I'll post here tommorrow with the results.

Concerning the map...(cous maybe I have downloaded the wrong version or something)

We had specimens getting stuck under bridges and stuff, and you could see the effect boxes or how you call them floating in the air. I starting to think ive downloaded the wrong version or something... :)

New version is bugged, I'm testing the beta right now.

That Jason ZED looks pretty cool, I would love to see him released as a replacement Boss for the patty.

Give him a ton of health and just when you thought he was dead.....Dun Dun Duh he gets back up again :p

Anyways I've finally got around to working on KF and I've added a new section to crystal lake (not publically released yet)

Now go to it my Beta testing fiends :D

Latest version V1.9c is now live on the steam workshop.

The map hasn't been updated for a while but this is the best of the current ones available.

If I get time maybe I'll be able to finish it but who knows when that will be.
