Hello everyone! I'm fairly new around here, so I'm here to show what I'm made of:

Crematorium, resembles a broken down furnace plant, mixed with a crematory.
"Story"
Though the crematorium has been abandoned for years, it is still in working order. The hallways smell of burning flesh, still to this day. The evil still lurks in this place, it draws the blood thirsty Zed in horde`. There is only one thing anyone would come here to do: Exterminate

I have fished the alpha stages of design. I'm new to the KF scene, but I've been making my own worlds since 1998. Everyone has to start somewhere, and the Killing Floor Community is where I'm making a new start.

Just to in case people have not talked about it, the spiral staircase, is not a friend of Killing Floor.
I have done my best to make one in my map mine work, but obviously these things are evolutionary processes. If I should scrub this version, and revamp it 100%... let me know?

It is also currently hosted on Moddb (http://www.moddb.com/games/killing-floor/addons/kf-crematorium2), I entered v1.0 in The Grindhouse Wave 1, with the intention to get my map out there, learn from my mistakes, and then develop bigger and better for Wave 2.

If you find some really disabling errors, bugs, exploits, or just plane frustration, Please feel free to PM me.:D
I do know of a few as of now, but that could not be helped as this is simply v1.0 :p

:( I started mapping with World Craft when I was 11. I'm 22 now and a lot has changed since then , I am teaching myself UnrealEd as I go, starting about 5 weeks ago. I'm just new to the programs not the grid. I've also realized the need for knowledge of 3dsmax or Blender, in order to get really good custom content (static mesh's), and I'm also teaching myself that currently.
Sorry to let people down. I'll have to come back once I get more knowledge under my belt.

Thanks for being the first person to at least say something to me around here dextronaut. Didnt mean to deceive.

Hi:)

The concept isn't bad.;)

I think problem...:rolleyes:

1.The road is narrow.
2.The map is not remembered easily.

I think It is good when there is camp point more.
When the progress of the game is rhythmical, it is good.


It is a very hard thing that makes the map.
Good luck for a update or a new map. :D

I actually tried your map on my server yesterday for the first time, and removed it after 10 minutes....

This is the reasons why...

A map does not have to look good (although it does help) to be enjoyable. There are maps out there, that do not look the prettiest, but they play really good. There are maps out there that look nice, but dont play great.

Your map does not currently fall into either of these areas. The map looks ugly. It is far too dark. There are no memorable landmarks, which allows me to therefore know where on the map I am. Everything just looks very samey. The zeds spawn in your face at some places, and as a result there is no enjoyment when playing it.

The spiral staircase gets players and zeds stuck on it, which is utter frustration. Remove it and put in proper steps....

...and the main thing. It looks nothing like any crematorium that I have ever been to. Go along and visit one, if you haven't done so already. Google for pictures of crematoriums. If you can make this look like a crematorium, then I am going to be interested enough to have a wander around it.

My comments are all negative, I am afraid, but keep working on it. A crematorium is a good location for a level. Your job, as the designer, and it isnt easy, is to make us players WANT to play it.

My comments are all negative, I am afraid, but keep working on it.

Nice, good to know at least 1 person has the ability to try a map and be honest about feedback.

I'm used to making deathmatch or teamplay maps. This is most likely why the 1st map i have ever made for this game, is not the best to play for this game. I really just wanted an honest opinion from people that play this game, about the map, in order to get an idea of what the do's and dont's are.
@Ricky I did google many pictures . If you look up concentration camp cremation machines the ones in the map are similar, but not to a T. I also had a normal stair case there to start with, and just wanted something different, like I said above, bad idea.

Thanks for the feedback, I will work on further developing this map, and if i can get something playable out of it, then I'll keep at Killing Floor mapping, if not, it's on to the next game for me.

I'm off to go teach myself more blender.

Its a pretty fun map. Maybe add a distance fog or overlay to dim down the lighting a bit? I'm not sure if that'll help or anything just a thought. I survived until Wave 9 today with a few guys it was a pretty fun map as I said before.

Thanks Echo_419, I am currently re-doing this map!
current map updates:
= removed the spiral stair case and replaced it with a real set of stairs
= increased overall lighting in some areas a bit
= and I'm working on expanding on the maps overall concept, size, and personal detail

I am also working with Photoshop CS3, and Blender, to create more personal, custom content for this and future projects.

I will include a fill list of updates in the readme, for the next release of the map. I will replace all existing .rar files for this map, on download links, with the next version when it comes out.
