EDIT: Released a v3 where I fixed a rather big exploit. Click the link below to redownload the new version.

This is considered to be a final version as long as no new bugs occure, and will be hopefully whitelisted soon.

Description of map
: An asylum themed map I created.

Change Log:

v2 - Removed the big hole in the floor because specimens had trouble entering it and it made the upper floor too easy to hold out in. Fixed any other minor issues.

v3 - Got rid of a big exploit with one of the trader rooms.

The video doesnt have those ugly borders anymore (at least not when viewed on youtube) and its updated for the new release.

Played it and i have to say this is the "scariest" map out there =D
really like the ambience and sound.
The Cells are nice, too. But the long corridor from the entrance to the complex is a bit wierd :D

Many nice ideas, but I didn't have the feeling of being in an asylum or in some kind of medical facility. Sure, the details were all there, but it felt more like running through a maze of corridors. Gameplay was good nonetheless.

I see your point, but its sort of a prison as well as an asylum and mostly the cells are next to each other on big hallways so Im not sure what else should I have done.

But yeah Im trying to make my maps a little more complex in geometry nowdays.

As for geometry, try waiting for my map. It's gonna be helpful I promise, showing how difficult things can be done, with lots of brushes.

As for the map, maybe I was expecting something like many levels, narrow stairwells, kinda like the painkiller mansion level, or perhaps a modern prison, with windows to small backyards and stuff, with cellblocks on both sides of the corridor somewhere in the basement, for the difficult treatments. Well I suppose the mind works different on different mappers, drawing impressions and inspiration from different things... :)

well, the maps athmo worx fine for me. as i said before the impression that this choas just happend yesterday is pretty creepy to me.

IMO a real keeper.

Ugh its not the matter of knowing how to do things its more like being bothered to. Complex geometry takes tons of times which I dont have.

Complex geometry isn't necessarily made of complex forms, it can also be made of a series of cubes. But I agree, time is one the scarcest forms of ressources these days (and I wonder where I got the time from a few years ago).

Nothing gamebreaking, but ...
When holding the doorway with bars on either side, facing the spawn, there's usually 1 or 2 specimen stuck at the door to the right. (Hope you get what door I mean, kinda hard to explain)

Otherwise, beautyful map.
Even even without fancy visuals and layout, this one's ranking high on my favorite maps list.

Oh, well thats actually a rather common bug in a lot of maps out there, its more of an issue with the doors or specimens rather than the map itself I think.

I could try fixing it up by making the doors open a little more but I dont think Im going to do it for a while. Maybe if more issues pop up or if I decide to add more to the map later.
