Are you afraid of witches?

Then do not come to Barmwich Town, a place of black magic, death, and spirits... You can smell the tragedy in the old dark streets.. the echo of the laugh from the dead witches, and worst.. now you have a bunch of maniac genetic aberrations that have been following you to this town.. they are angry... and they want your flesh.. but seems that they are not the only in this dark place.....

Hello everybody!

As I anunced in the Level Design sub forum, I was working in my summer gift to the Killing Floor 2 Comunity. This map has been beta tested by a few memebers of the comunity so I had to fix everything before show you this new Beta. I hope you like it , enjoy

Very cool atmosphere and good details everywhere. Cool to get a map in this setting.

However in my quick playthrough I was able to jump over 2 entrances/exits to zed spawns and could fall off the map if I wanted. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to take/post screenshots.

I can not get the textures to work. No matter what I do. All I can see are the standard non-texture texture on the models (trees, traders etc...)

Wesker make sure when you cook that custom materials are added mate, sometimes you have to cook 2-3 times.

Eager to give this map a test; seems like the download still isn't back up. Loving the different atmosphere and seeing your custom traders is awesome!

Unreal Engine is a love/hate relation.

I love the tools and the 3d view.
i hate the package system and the formats.

Nice work, i hope i'll see updates of this map and westlondon soon mate !

Fantastic map! Very dark and eerie, I love it. Also those custom traders are awesome! Although, there are a few issues with it that I must point out.

On the upper area and graveyard, the blood is completely glitched out. It's like super tiny and duplicates multiple tiny splats at once. This is the most glaring issue, as proper splatter is the first thing I look for in a map. Screenshots here:

Also, there's a bit of a cut-off on the mist effect of the graveyard in this spot:


Hope this helps and I hope you can successfully address these. This map is amazing! :D

I love the church and the chapel.
What could i say ? Map misses a lot of volumes to block players. You can reach the zed spawning areas, if you see what i mean. Needs zombieZone volumes. Some colisions are odd aswell, like in the graveyard and near the trees (cause of the roots i guess) so remove their physics and add an invisible cylinder, for example.

Suggestion : a place with different lightning colors would be very nice.

It's a very good beta to me. you're my new fav mapper <3

Im so happy to hear peple enjoy the map!
I will update everything and yeah I will add a diferent light/color area, I posted this as a beta to see if my custom content worked!

And sorry for double-posting, but to Wesker Luna, is it not possible to put all the mapfiles into a single .kfm file?

Like KF-A-Operations, KF-london, and KF-ZedIsland.

Yes it is posible, but this was my first time using external packages (upk) in this SDK and I forgot to import my models inside the KF.map file so the map uses external packages

Im working in the new version with all my stuff inside the KF.map file

Can you elaborate on this, for curious non-mappers?

Unreal editor is very handy as you can see in real time what you're doing, the tools are very easy to use. Interface is the best i have seen in a game editor.
But the fact you can't copy paste things from other maps without having a huge risk to break everything, and the fact the file format for import / export are things that nobody use are a pain in the bum.

But it's a powerful engine that just need time to compile lights, otherwise everything is in real time, you can even right clic and "play" in your level in 1 sec, it's really cool.

The packages are a big problem. It means, if you import new 3d objects, or textures, and dind't save files the right way, all your map will be broken. It will work for you, but not for other players. This is very dangerous :D
This is why there are beta maps like this, not everything is inside one only file.
When you create a map with a lot of custom elements, you need to do a lot of backups and to send the map to other players to have feedback.
