Okay, I found a fix on Steam forums:

First, download Dependency Walker (google it).
Second, open KFGame.exe in Dependency Walker.
Once you open it, you will see on the bottom tab DLLs that have question marks in a yellow circle, you need those DLLs. Go to http://www.dll-files.com/ and search the DLLs you need then put them in the .exe directory.
I tried this and got even more missing files. After installing them all I now have this error http://puu.sh/ho8aU/a6487bb7cd.png

Also I still have the 0xc000007b error when I try launching

Hey lads,
I've noticed that my OS hasn't been rebooted since 2012. So would you check if yours has been rebooted recently, so I can figure if it worth to try or not to reboot my OS.
thx

Guys, see if X3D1_7.dll in Dependency Walker is x86 for you. If it is, download the x64 version and put it in SysWOW64.

Anyone with 0xc000007b, could you please try running sfc /scannow in cmd. It takes some time, but after the wait, it told me there were some corrupt files which it couldn't fix. Even running chkdsk couldn't fix anything, so I'd consider reinstalling Windows if someone else gets the same result...

If you meant DependencyWalker: As said before, this isn't what you would call "untrusted software", really...

So I can say for sure that it ain't an OS Specific Problem, as a friend of mine has got it running on 8.1. It's also got nothing to do with corrupted files, as I've now managed to repair everything (even though I might still reinstall Windows).

Here's a little list of what I've done and know so far:
-reinstalled my Graphics Card Drivers once
-reinstalled PhysX twice
-reinstalled C++ 3-4 times (also uninstalled all the others just for testing)
-dotNet3.5 ain't really a thing on 8.1 (except you can turn it off and on)
-I don't really know what to do with DirectX
-redownloaded KF2 twice (so 3 times)
-started KF2 with admin rights, -dx10 and -windowed, from steam and from the folder
-ran several cache file verifications, all successfully
-asked my friend to run KF2 through DependencyWalker and he got exactly the same missing files... but, y'know, he is able to run it...

Is there anything left I can do?

This worked for me

This worked for me

After trying several solutions for this issue, I finally manage to make my game launch by doing this:

Same here, but I can only get in by using my on-board video card... unfortunately it's slow even on lowest settings.

When I switch to my other card 'Geforce 9800 gt' with latest driver 341.44, same crash on startup.

Edit: ok ok I didn't get to read the sticky too quick, this solved it:
"You will also want to try adding:
-dx10
to your launch options via Steam"

Holpe it helps.

If you have a Nvidia GFX card and you are having a launch issue where the game does not load at all, ie, the game process runs very briefly in the task manager then seemingly disappear, try the following that I posted elsewhere

So to remedy this
1. go uninstall physx from your PC (Through control panel or revo, whatever)
2. DO NOT re install physx at this time
2. Run the game through steam, it will run the first time set up
3. The setup run the installer and will install the physx it wants
4. Game launches
5. ...
6. Profit?

If this doesnt fix it im sorry there is some other conflicting issue that is in regards to the install scripts that get run when the first time installer is run.

Let me know if this helped

Ok, so your problem is the 1st error. Look in Dependency Walker all the DLLs and find the ones that are x86 and replace them with x64 versions. That`s the only thing I can think of. Everything is x64 for me except NVCUDA.DLL but I am using ATI so that may not effect me. And don`t bother with EXT and API DLLs.

So did you have to put the missing files in the KF folder or in SysWOW64/system32? I've only gotten one more error than you saying "Error: At least one required implicit or forwarded dependency was not found." But my friend has that one too...

Hey chap,
Well i did replaced the missing one, and those on system 32 which were on x86 and not x64. I found them by clicking on the format and changed everything but EXt and API dlls.
For you mate I don't really know because i just have level 0 on programs or informatic so I've not even know how the things I did worked.
