Great update. I feel lots of fun incoming.

On HoE difficulty, the GC only throttles up from the baseline, never below
(best case scenario :D)

Players will now drop their best weapon on death if the weapon they have out cannot be dropped
(yay, less risky selfheal)

Items purchased from the ZedConomy Store are now tradeable, but not marketable.
(that fixed a bug purchase for me, thanks)

Increased speed of equip and putaway of all weapons by 60%
(KF1 feeling)

Fleshpound will no longer perma-rage, and Scrake will no longer insta-rage when they are among the last few remaining Zeds
(wonder how that will affect difficulty, have to try it out)

I liked playing a survival game on suicidal when the game coordintor was just going ham on scrakes on the waves since me and 2 other berzerkers were just pulverizing them.

At least I'm assuming it was the game coordinator since it felt like an inhumane amount of scrakes.

Also I liked when I was playing Gunslinger and was in the last 2 alive with a FP breathing down our neck and the game decided to drop 2 more FP's and scrakes on us on the last 20 zeds.

GC doesn't change the random spawn selection of zeds. It is something we are considering moving forward.

Ive always had slow load times but only when starting/loading the game for the first time. Once its been loaded up though it starts alot quickly even if not amazingly fast. I have slower PC btw.

That is what our games were like before this last update. So the first time I started it I expected it to take a while but it doesn't get faster with multiple starts like it used to. I might try a reinstall. But it is happening on 2 pcs so I'm not sure it will help. A bit unlikely we would both have the same problem unless the update changed something

While I'm happy to finally have new content I'm very disappointed it seems TWI has been focusing all of their energy into turning this into a competitive game. Why does every game have to be CSGO now? I've always enjoyed the co-op experience of Killing Floor and hope that co-op doesn't become secondary to appealing to the competitive market. When you think of it, take away VS and it took 4+ months to add 1 map, 2 weapons, new trader lines and some new effects. None of which has been optimized or balanced properly, which you admit ... so this update seems so rushed and sloppy for what little content was really included. Sharpshooter still isn't finished yet, Demo still hasn't been revamped and I feel like these things were more important to the community than a competitive mode. I know they are coming but when is soon? Surely you don't intend on making us wait another 4+ months after this paltry update do you?

I've put nearly 2,000 hours into this game so obviously I take KF2 very seriously. Though my feelings are hurt, I'm not gonna say I'm giving up yet or anything. I just hope you guys don't lose sight of this game's core, what made Killing Floor so fun, and what has had people like me totally obsessed for years. This vs stuff aint it.

The new map looks great! It has to be one of my favourite. There something for everyone : long narrow corridors and more open spaces. They are some nice (and saucy :D ) details as always. I really like it!

The LAR is awesome and I'm glad to see it back. It looks great, it feels great and it fires great. I can't wait to see the full release of the sharpshooter to feel back the overpowered glory of the past!

I'm glad the crossbow is a bit lighter and cheaper. Using it along with dual deagles just like old time was absolutely delightful! I'm not totally sold about how it looks and I have to say that it seems trickier to use than before...maybe less powerful too? Then again it was a genuine powerhouse back in the day, maybe it's for the best.

I haven't tried the VS survival yet , but I have to say that I don't care that much for it... Even though it might be quite fun!

The fixes and balance are also a welcomed addition!

(Also for some reasons, even the Trader's voice grew on me... I kinda like her tone, mostly when she's talking about killing Scrakes!)

Thanks for the update, that make me come back to KF2... I just tried the new LAR weapon and to tell the truth I am really disapointed we don t see the legandary animation of the trigger mechanism that give a unique sensation to use a winchester!... but the design is ok.

Flashlight change is being reverted. We are working on a few other items as well to try and turn around for a quick patch.

Thank you! Sorry to repeat myself from the 1028 thread, but I think there's a strange new issue with the flashlight now. after the reversion If you aim it at certain textures, it makes the flashlight seem really bright, almost blindingly so. It's especially noticeable if you aim at sirens' and gorefasts' heads. Certain wall textures- particularly on Catacombs- seem to be culprits, too.

Either that or the flashlight is just brighter than before. My friend couldn't notice a difference, so I'm not sure if it's just me or not.

nooooo. dont change the flashlight brightness

With all due respect, are you nuts? I can't understand how anybody could defend that useless flashlight. You'd get more light from a dying glowstick.

To some extent I agree with this, but for different reasons. I personally feel that we should get game mode A right before adding game modes B and C. I'm pretty sure that what the core community really wants is the new perks, the new weapons, and balance. I expect the priorities that have been chosen are more for marketing reasons in trying to increase the player base and hype about the game and extend the general replay-ability to a far wider audience rather than just the diehard fans. If this strategy vastly increases the size and longevity of the player base then fine but I sure do hope we won't be waiting till 2017 to get martial artist and SWAT, which at this rate seems realistic...

You should try to make the flashlight brighter than it was on 1027 and less brighter than it is on 1028 and all the other versions.

I mean it's so bright than I can't even see, everything is white and washed out.

I don't even wanna mention SWAT and MA cuz something tells me we won't see those perks for a veeeery long time, but TWI has been teasing about working on SS and demo for awhile now so it seemed more realistic to expect those to be added sooner.

TWI is a business that wants to make money, like all others and that is to be expected .. but its like cmon. KF is a co-op experience first and foremost, can we get that on track before branching out to something completely new and rebranding the game? I personally would like to see all co-op options and modes exhausted before hitting up the competitive market. I mean wouldn't it make sense to want to keep your existing fanbase happy and supportive rather than worry about the fans you don't have yet? Look at Nosgoth, similar VS mode and competitive game that just wouldn't catch on the way SE hoped. Not every game is meant to be CSGO or LoL or whatever.

I dunno, though I'm not panicking yet, I just hope TWI isn't slowly telling us existing fans to go **** ourselves cuz that would suck. Like I'm looking at the menu and want some meat and potatoes on my plate. After a 45 minute wait TWI is serving me trail mix right now .. like how did you manage to screw up my order? I didn't ask for this. Where is the rest of my food?

I don't know about the rest of you but I've received massive performance gains across the board.

I used to play on high settings with FXAA and still get fps drops when Fleshpounds and explosions were going on. Now I have everything maxed out and it never dips below 60fps.

Thank you Tripwire for the great optimization!

hello, it is still possible to equip welder with a scroll (old fashion weapon switch option). just scroll past healer, and click before it's back to your primary.
most of the time it will equip welder for a fraction of a second and go back to your primary right after, while other times it will equip and stay with it.

hmm weird.
I still have lag spikes when several zeds die at once. I have almost all on Ultra except shadow and refelctions off. Yet the fps still drops to 40fps from constant 85fps.

I did not see it in the note, but :

Before the update, if you bought a single pistol (like the magnum), use some ammo and then buy a second pistol in the next trader time, your ammo would automatically be 40. No matter if you got more (in the single pistol) or less.

Now, when you buy a second pistol, your ammo stay the same. Which is nice in a way (you can not lose ammo) but if you knew about this mechanic you could save some dosh by using a single pistol and then buying your dualies in the next wave.

I realized this "modification" when I realized that instead of having 40 ammo in my magnum (because I bought the second magnum), I only got 3... almost got killed because of this...

It also applies to the 9mm. You do not get any ammo when buying your second 9mm.

Fun thing though, if you sell back the second 9mm, your ammo will be at 120.

Game conductor only scales up the amount of zed, never down

Ive read this is only true in HOE. Either way, I still want to turn it off. (on the server)

Can this be done? Needs to be a separate game mode from survival imo if its not.

Make it default TWI, I don't care, I need to be able to revert back to regular difficulties.
