What's concerning me is the proportionately high number "no" votes. Gee, ya think there isn't a horde of these macro cheaters out there in game???
There are a lot of "no" votes because the idea of banning macros through anti-cheat is ludicrous. If you don't want someone zig zagging with their bayo out because it ruins your realism experience, just ban them from the server, or go play in a server that forces tactical realism. As tofupunk already posted, there are plenty of scripts that are beneficial to gameplay without being malicious. By banning those modifications through anticheat (
all macros would need to be banned), you are removing options from the game.
Since PB allegedly scans users' pc's for illegal processes, it shouldn't be too hard for them to search for certain, common key progression macros being used, like prone-ads-fire, sprint-left-right-left-right, left-right-left-right .... etc. There are probably only about 4 or 5 that are the most common. It isn't rocket science. They won't do it, because they'll lose the COD kiddies who buy $150 mice/keyboards in order to program "noob pwning" macros.
Who is going to decide which key progressions are bad? You have no say in the matter because you are not working for PB, so if they decide Hold ADS or crouch are bad key progressions, you can kiss them goodbye. You are putting too much faith in a third party when all you have to do is set up your own server and enforce your own rules.
I'm also getting tired of people throwing around terms like "COD kiddie". It may be a pile of **** franchise, but you still look like an elitist prick when you say it...same goes for ridiculing anyone who likes to buy gaming grade equipment.
