Katana? Who needs it?

Maybe some people will start considering the Machete a bit more after this!

I always carry machete around when I'm using firebug and occasionally with some other perks in early waves.

I used to use it quite often as berserker before katana was introduced until scrakes began to pop up, then I usually sold it and took both axe and chainsaw if possible.

I do find it quite silly (while also very hilarious) that some low level berserkers or some other perks also asks for ****load of money to buy katana and then die faster than they can se FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU during that wave and after they respawn in middle of the wave, they often proceed to beg another ****load of money to get it again

I did once try to use Machete with Firebug on late waves in BioticLabs but weird moves and being alone got me slaughtered...
Although I found you can still stun scrakes with Machete even with non-Zerker perks; it requires a lot of slashing however, thus making you vulnerable (and if you stop slashing the Scrake immediately recovers).

Berserkers are the worst offenders, but any class can be guilty of this...

I have a "One chance" rule. If a new player joins, I'll give 'em enough money to suit up. Once. If they die after that in anything less than a heroic fashion, they get no more money from me. Period. Otherwise they just drain team resources...

totally disagree, i am a berserker and a really good one if i may add.
I would rather be a big help to teammates then most other perks.
I dont think that crusad3r is feeling hindered by me in any way when i play with him

true. katanas cause whining for money. it helps to learn how to use the weapon that only costs 200 when you're low on dough and cant afford a katana. it's better then knife or nothing.

Good on you.
I used the katana last night, as Lv3 Berserker and it seemed to take more power attacks to bring down a scrake with a katana, than with a chainsaw.
I'd be interested if anyone could verify this. ie that the chainsaw power attack does slightly more damage than katana.

My money's on chainsaw's faster slash speed. Or it seems to be so.

It's true that berserkers often are some of the worst ones when it comes to that sort of stuff, but if you see a support or sharpshooter asking for money and buying X, they often don't die in a millisecond the moment the wave starts.

The problem here lies on the fact that I've rarely seen a low level berserker actually buying an axe or even machete when they're low on cash. If it's not katana, they usually go and buy some weapon like bullpup or go for dual pistols or something like that.

I am not sure why but seems like people really have no clue that even machete can be useful and that the fire axe is more than sufficient in early waves.

kekek, aggree. I also hate it when new people join a game and start begging for cash, then they die very early into the wave and quit the game..... You're like, wtf I just gave that guy all my money. I even sacraficed renewing my armor so he could equip!

When I spawn into a midway game, I always spawn in with a chainsaw and I use it for that round, until next round If I feel like buying a katana or switch to another class. If I am given money when joining, I put it on armor since I already have a main class weapon.

You just gotta be choosy. If the player has been in the server for a few wave, go ahead. But if he just joined, give him only a little dough if any at all.

Im a demo myself and i find it very useful (especially for scrakes )
