1. Yes but not as many as a year ago, but that can be said of any game. Download DH via steam, this a full mod and is played alot. MN is coming out too soon on steam (so i hear).

2. Its steam. An awesome updating platform. SO your always up to date :)

Are you having problems?? Post up here if you are and we will resolve it.

oh and welcome :D

Since you are new, thought it might be good to clarify that:

DH = Darkest Hour (a mod you can download from the steam store for free)

MN = Mare Nostrum (another mod you can download from steam for free)

Go to the steam store and search for those names and you'll find those mods. Most people seem to play DH and RO. MN is supposed to have an update soon though, and that will probably get an influx of players again too.

I'll be recieving my RO in the Mail (through EBay) in a few days, I came across this game while browsing for a DECENT FPS in a WW2 enviroment that actually has an online fanbase...I played the $%^& out of Company of Heroes, but I always wondered how cool it would be if I could actually be that guy behind the MG-42 in the PanzerIV rolling across the fields at 30MPH, rushing the enemy outpost.

This game can possibly fulfill that desire, and I am counting the seconds until it arrives!!

I look foward to seeing you all once im on!

Well you will certainly enjoy it, and I know i'll be playing RO:Ost for a while before I get into the mods (Once I get it as well that is), so you'll at least have me to shoot at.

Oh and another good thing about Steam is that if you get a new computer or have to reformat your system, once you re-install Steam and log back in, all your games you paid for are saved and stored in your account, so all you need to do is just right-click/Install them again and away you go.

Or if you have multiple computers at home, you can have the same account on each computer with the same games (You just can't have both logged in at the same time or it might think you're sharing your account.)

One more question:
How come so few servers use the DM_none mode? I suppose that is the server side option to disable kill notifications. This brings more immersion to fps games when u really dont know if u killed someone or not. In DH there seems to be more server with DM_none.
In RnL it is default that u dont see kill notifications and no one seems to have problems with it. From console u can see who killed u but there is no way of knowing if u killed the enemy other then seeing him dying or hearing the death roar...

Just wondering...

I don't think seeing a notification that you killed someone is as much of an issue with most compared to the notification that an enemy is in the cap zone.... or that you're in the cap zone area.

But then again, even if that wasn't there, just like the mod, if the cap doesn't move, or the capping is very slow, you pretty well know an enemy is nearby.

And as noted before, you hear the screams, or you see their helmet/hat fly off and they drop to the ground, or they go out of sight (no longer a danger to you anyways) so you'd still move on..... I don't really see death notifications as that big of a thing and do help you remember that it's just a game.

I prefer to play without death messages too.
Death messages are too arcade for me.
When someone is throwing a grenade into my room, without death messages he can't be 100% sure if he killed me or not. So he must check to be sure. Usually he is dying while checking.
Again, when someone is firing MG at my side from distance, I could just drop on the ground and stay idle for few seconds. If I stay alive, I can kill MG with no problem - he has no idea if I'm dead or not.

It would be nice, if we could have 10 seconds delay to score update, when killing someone with death messages switched off.
