From play.com.

Already had steam installed and half life 2.

Installed the game, then the auto installer installed Steam. Steam gives me a message that i don't have enough free space, i have over 80 gigs of free space.

I load up steam and it asks me to validate my game with the serial, which i do, it then trys to download the full game, is this correct? The game is already installed?

Steam simply adds RO to your "My games" list, and downloads all necessery files to play the game after you validated it with serial. You don't even need the cd to install.

When you see download finished (100%-Ready status), you're ready to play. All available updates are automatically downloaded upon starting the game.

Thanks guys got it all sorted now. Seems a great game, can't believe i have only just discovered it.

I have some more questions, but they are mainly gameplay related so i expect i should be asking those in another section. Ill take a look around.

welcome to the wonderful world of Red Orchestra. Just don't get too frustrated at killing your own men and people yelling at you to get in the cap zone. Some of the best aspects I like about the game is the steady, methodical pace, a sense of "front lines" and lack of a$$hole kids and immature gamers. The game has a bit of a steep learning curve; stick with it and you too will be an addict.:D

Add the shortcut

Quickest way in is to right click the 'my games' red orchestra line on steam and pick the 'add shortcut to desktop' option and you can click it on your screen to fire it up.
