This 6mb patch supposed to be client side only. Yet if players re-join with the update, they can get on to the custom map.

90% of us didn't have that 6mb update.

I just got it... but... I'm not here to debate... merely to verify and offer my findings.


Bridges of Druzhina has a serious problem.... Players spawn OK but have no weapons and no function. Perhaps its best to wait on the next map pack?

Locally, I'm able to load up the map and shoot weapons fine. Maybe it's just something wrong with the servers???

Not trying to have a go at you Mike, just leaving my experiences.

Got 6 of us playing Bridges at the moment. All working normal just shame that 6mb patch came at the wrong time for us :D

Yeah that "speed hack detected" and ping spike problem? Not fixed.

So now Iwo Jima is even easier for allies? They have way to much time. Decrease with like 10 minutes, lol...

Its going to be rough for Japanese now. On a map that is already rough. Especially since C is really cut off from Japanese reinforcements due to having run out in the open.

Nope... and what about making the flame thrower as dangerous for the operator as it is his/her enemies!!!???

And make the flame thrower much louder and reduce its range... 28m is way to far.

Points Tripwire might want to fix... like operators mobility....


  • The first disadvantage was the weapon's weight, which impairs the soldier's mobility.
  • The weapon is limited to only a few seconds of burn time since it uses fuel very quickly, requiring the operator to be precise and conservative.
  • The weapon was very visible on the battlefield which caused operators to become immediately singled out as prominent targets, especially for snipers.
  • Flamethrower operators were rarely taken prisoner, especially when their target survived an attack by the weapon; captured flamethrower users were often summarily executed[citation needed].
  • Finally, the flamethrower's effective range was short in comparison with that of other battlefield weapons of similar size. To be effective, flamethrower soldiers must approach their target, risking exposure to enemy fire. Vehicular flamethrowers also have this problem; they may have considerably greater range than a man-portable flamethrower, but their range is still short compared with that of other infantry weapons.

You can shoot down recon planes?!

Yeah you always could, but there was very little notification of it happening except it dropping out of the sky (no smoke, damage, etc.) and then vanishing from my memory.... and they were difficult as hell to shoot down so it wasn't really worth trying..... I even shot at it with a tank's MG and Cannon with no luck.

This sounds like a fun little feature and finally something else for players to focus on.

To answer you Mike, we aren't sure why your servers did not seem to be effected (but they should have been).


We are looking into the gore issue for German players now, but we think that something might need to be "flipped" on the Steam back-end. We've reached out to Valve.

Strange that it did happen that way. What about the German language in the RO2/RS menus?

Some of your post is valid, but when you start spewing about flame throwers you're completely wrong. The M2-2 had range upwards of 40m which is about 60 feet. You had about 8 seconds of continuous burn time and your video is a poor description of M2-2 capabilities. Also flame tanks had ranges upwards of 300m, that's ****ing far considering there are studies that prove most combat that took place during WW2 was under 200m. Although the flamethrower was heavy about 70lbs fully fueled, today soldier combat load is 75lbs. When you look into the real facts the flamethrowers weren't bad but they were extremely effective for their purpose. Flamethrowers in this game are fine.

And dont even try to use the realistic argument when flamethrowers in the game run around like rambo. And in case you havn't noticed, todays soldiers don't move so fast. That heavy combat load slows them down, its no secret, they say it themselves.

Anyone else has no Full Gore with the german version?

Everytime I choose "Full Gore" it switches back to "No dismemberment" like it did before the patch.
Exactly the same for me! And I wsa so happy when I read the patch notes :/
Here's hoping they will fix it soon.

Been more commotion than I would have anticipated. Our servers are all visible in the STEAM browser, but half of them are still missing from the RS game browser. I'm working on this. Might be a client issue with my box. We'll see. :D
