This is used on /r/darksouls1/2 and it looks great.

Darksouls subreddits use Flatblue base. We're using Naut. :D

Link to Flatblue: http://www.reddit.com/r/FlatBlue

Link to Naut: http://www.reddit.com/r/naut

Both are incredibly awesome, and easy to customize. If you're every creating a new theme, using those as a base is so much better than the default reddit, which is basically just an empty input container where you have to go fill it in yourself!

Either way, thank you - glad you like it!

On the Internet.
I agree with Lace and Arblarg here. If you want a good place to communicate with normal players, use the forums made for those players, not some random message board website. You might as well go to 4chan's /v/ board and post threads there - at least you'd get decent input there.

We have some pretty awesome discussion about KF and KF2 on the sub. The subreddit is in no way replacing anything that's already in place, it's more of an extra outlet to talk about things, or if you use Reddit a lot (like me) you can find new information about KF related things pretty easily.

Hope this helps,
Shuu

I'm not a fan of Reddit (and it has nothing to do with the up/down voting system) but I recognize that it wouldn't be constructive to whine that people want to talk about KF2 over there...

I AM hoping however that if any new information is released by TWI staff over there, that it will ALSO be posted here at the same time? We're all so desperate for official news and have yet to hear anything new since the very first interview...

Hey guys, let's keep this on topic.
Talking about reddit in the thread about reddit is off-topic now?

We have some pretty awesome discussion about KF and KF2 on the sub. The subreddit is in no way replacing anything that's already in place, it's more of an extra outlet to talk about things, or if you use Reddit a lot (like me) you can find new information about KF related things pretty easily.
Using it as an outlet to post updates non-exclusively isn't terrible per se, but I worry that'll it become the only place besides the forums to solicit input, and the tunnel-vision inherent to such an approach. When will Neogaf, Something Awful, GameFAQs, 4chan, Facepunch, moddb, or any of the others get the same attention?

This wasn't TWI's doing, and I apologize if you thought that. This is something I did in my free time and we (as in the Reddit mods and myself) would like to have some more discussion on the subreddit. It's more of a quick-look news outlet for people like me and others that use Reddit a lot. :)

Someone's not a fan of Reddit. :D
This isn't limited to Reddit. Lacedaemonius' list is good to use: Neogaf, Something Awful, GameFAQs, 4chan, Facepunch, moddb...

Adding another 'official' message board would create problems regardless of where. Saying that my opinion is rooted from a dislike of Reddit is pathetic attempt to dismiss my point.

Fair enough, I understand where you're coming from. :)

r/killingfloor has been around for some time so don't take this as a sign of TW abandoning these forums, both Steam forums, their Facebook,YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, ect... Reaching more people is marketing 101.

I guess I misread or you misspoke. If it's something you did yourself without using TWI's resources then I recant my previous statements. What you do on YOUR time is YOUR business and I've no cause to complain. I respect that.

I still think reddit's a terrible place though.

You are greatly exaggerating.
Actually check out the subreddit and you'll see it's not bad at all:

I have; shockingly it *IS* possible to experience reddit and not enjoy it. Dismissing others' qualms as "you couldn't hate it if you'd just try it!" only get's you so far.
Maybe he was exaggerating a bit, but I can sympathize with the sentiment.

The Tripwire Interactive forums will always be the message board. /r/KillingFloor is fan run entirely. While we definitely appreciate some attention from a member of TW as we are a decently large community centered on Killing Floor, we are still impartial, and I'm sure TW has no plans to distribute information there that wouldn't of course hit here.

Shuu is showing some love for a community he's already a part of (reddit) in a capacity that makes the interaction more interesting and engaging. Extra communities for a game are a good thing, even if it's not on a forum you frequent. He's doing this in his free time, too!

I'm sorry you guys don't like reddit. I hated it when it started too - same with Digg. There's ~4600 of us that like it and happen to like Killing Floor enough to subscribe its subreddit, though!

I don't disagree with that, but to immediately hop on the hate-train and dismiss reddit as "cancer" is not the right way to go about it. I'm not trying to convince you guys to use and enjoy reddit, but to stop dismissing reddit as a bad way to help promote the game and community growth beyond these forums that are mainly used only by the most hardcore TWI fans.

Reddit isn't just lolsorandumXD memes and captioned images. Each subreddit is unique and there are some really great ones out there. To judge reddit merely by its front page of default subreddits is a very shallow way to look at it, imo. I see reddit as the best way to create new communities centered around any particular subject one enjoys. There's one for almost anything out there and this site has really helped me discover new interests I never would have otherwise.

It has also helped me to promote IOM for Red Orchestra 2 better than any other outlet. Posting about it only on these forums went only so far, but sharing our youtube videos on the RO subreddit gave us more views than ever before. It has helped us garner interest far better than just these forums ever could.
