I know most of us are all pumped for the new gore system coming to KF2 and I have been looking over the footage closely and I noticed something that I am not to sure about. Looking at the fluid physics (which uncoincidentally) look exactly like the fluid physics in Borderlands, but that is the problem. The fluid looks like massive globs of thick jelly, which for the bloat bile makes a lot of sense, not so much for the blood. And when the Siren screams it looks like the blood bounces around like (you guessed it) jelly. Am I the only one that noticed this and to which it bothers? Will the blood physics be tweaked to be more realistic?

Based on the revealed footage, I am quite sure those globs you refer to as blood are indeed chunks of meat.

In general blood is thick, but that isn't completely the rule of thumb. Depends on a bunch of factors down to the temperature, things we put in our body, surface its landing on, and the specific wound type. The last one I believe has 3 different bleeding variations that are quite unique. That's just to name a few.

I have seen pools of blood too. :p

Are you a vampire? :D

Perhaps the OP confused the intestines in that footage with blood? At least that is the only explanation I can come up with, since the blood I am seeing there doesn't match the description provided by OP.

The blood looks almost identical to the PhysX blood/liquid in Borderlands 2. Looks too gloopy in my personal opinion and I will likely disable it. It suits the Bloat's bile better.

What Stryker said.

Blood is a lot thicker than you think, it doesn't run at all like you see in the movies, a lot of the fast paced blood pooling you see is artistic license. Real blood is very gloopy, and will behave in a liquid jelly like manner... especially to say there are numerous organs blown to pulp mixed in with it :)

Not really unless you have a HKT of like 70% :p.
Fresh arterial blood of a normaly hydrated person is a bit thicker then water but it should in no case be gloopy. Once it starts to coagulate it really gets gloopy and jelly like but that's not the case for fresh blood ;)

To me the new blood system however looks good. It's just something totaly new and cool to look at :D. Simulating real water would kill every pc i guess, so this is totaly fine. And who knows what heppened to the dna of these specimen... maybe they all have a Factor 5 disorder or so which makes their blood very jelly like. That would explain the sudden death of some specimen... Suddenly they get a stroke :D

Since the same point keeps cropping up, I believe I was too subtle in what I said. I said liquid jelly, as in jelly before it gets puts in the fridge, not the hardened jelly. :D

It is most certainly a liquid, but it is rather viscous, which is why a trickle of blood clings to you so well, and doesn't drip off you all that easily, and also why it stains cloth but takes a good while before it leaks through.

Of course I don't have much of a point of reference for how jelly-like the KF2 blood is in PhysX other than the trailer. In that it looked about right to me speaking as someone who has had several bloody injuries, but this jelly like quality is not what I would use to describe it either ;)

I took a closer look at the video and the blood looks quite good to me. It's not really jelly like but the single blood drops are a bit bigger then what we are used to from the emitter blood.
If there would be more our pcs would probably die from calculating all the blood :D
The secene where the blood rins down the snow-path looks quite realistic imo.

It looks like the implementation of Borderland 2 and Presequel with Fluids/FleX. KF2 Blood looks like it has slightly more fraction and thickness.

I would have to agree with OP.
The blood looked a tad too thick and weighted.
Minor issue really but noticeable.

After removing a specimens head blood should shoot up 6ft in the air from the carotid artery, in the video it gushes from the sirens neck where I think it would look better squirting out in a pulsed rhythm.

The new gore is definitely my most anticipated feature! GJ TW

Unfortunately Im in this boat too... but not by choice. Im already having to play at lowest gfx settings to reduce lags to a minimum... though most of my regular team experience some sort of time distortion or teleportation at vital moments in games. ^^

However wouldnt it be funky if the amount of goo slowed down a player running through it or could be ignitable from a husk or fb weapon.... :D

Did I mention?

Did I mention?

At our house, we call the History Channel the "conjecture channel" because all the shows are like "what if aliens brought viking warriors from the past to turn the tide of WWII?! - I guess we'll never know."

It would be great if we could toggle individual PhysX effects, probably in a configuration file though; though I'm sure TWI's staff know that based on how much we can already tweak.

^^ you heard it here first folks; blood IS thicker than water. ;)

It's a mathematical limitation thing, super realistic fluid simulations are sorta a next-gen GPU+CPU "Pascal" generation thing, if at all. These systems fake it by having a smaller number of points and a system that handles how they converge and separate, since true fluid simulation would require far too many particles for today's GPU's.

I think the spark particles we do see being spammed and the debris like the dirt in BL2 are mostly bull****ted, they only have to bounce once or sit in one spot, whereas a liquid particle must cause computation the entire time it's around to decide if it needs to move.
