Jackknives

A knife on the other hand has lots of other uses besides violence. Unfortunately, knives are often associated with thuggery.

And yet knives are illegal to carry in many states that allow the carrying of a firearm for self defense.

It's true that cops are only out for their own survival, and it's true that they are but the instrument the law uses to enforce itself. It is often against departmental regulation for cops to carry knives, or atleast certain types of knives. In many departments due to legal issues cops are no longer allowed to carry large maglight flashlights. Understandably but regrettably it leads to a "if I cant have them nobody should" attitude and cops become extremely touchy around those objects. An officer might give you a worse attitude should he find a maglight in your car than a Glock. A worse attitude for a balisong in your car than a loaded AR-15.

As far as carrying around the trainer balisong - well... It definitely isn't going to help you out of a speeding ticket. :D

Haha well if I was pulled over and for some godawful reason was fiddling with the balisong trainer with one hand, that would sure as hell would be going somewhere hidden in a jiffy. Sort of like getting caught for not wearing your seatbelt- if you get pulled over and you aren't wearing it, who is dumb enough to sit there waiting and not put it on when when the cop is sitting in his car? :p
