With dozens of great maps, how about releasing a compilation of the best of them.

They already have, multiple times. kinda anyway, alot of the maps in the current game are community made, not as an official paid dlc though, not sure if twi own all the rights of anything made in the editor or would they need approval of the creator to do so.
I do think its time for a few more though
Why would people pay for maps they can get for free?

There are plenty of sites that have all maps aval for download completely free of charge.

I accept top community maps becoming official, but I don't think TWI has a right to charge money for a third-party free stuff. So it should be a free update, not the DLC.
yes, it would be nice to get some new "core" maps (3-5-10... ) like an update, and fight for the new achs. but i think they would do this like before: packing in the best community maps, voted by the community.
