After playing since the beta and release, I've completely fallen for this game. The tactical play, the fast paced action & the extreme atmosphere produced by the dynamic soundtrack and team morale system.

Really, I can't think of any fps I've enjoyed this much. I'm actually a complete novice, too, and I keep coming back death after death after death.

Today I played on a server by Honor soldiers; there were less then 18 players total and it was absolute bliss. This game shines so brightly when played with smaller teams.

On station, my team of allied players held out the final point in TE for 10 full minutes. The whole time dramatic music was playing to match the defeated morale of my team, having been pushed all the way back.

On Barracks, my team had an excellent leader who led us in and out of enemy territory where middle points were captured and lost in heated fast paced battles. We won a round and lost the next, but I had to leave before the game ended.

Honestly, I can't even understand at this point how people could dislike this game. It has bugs, as any game would, but it's such an absolute gem. And sure, it isn't a carbon copy of RO classic but it doesn't have to be one to be superb.

I really look forward to the future of this game as TWI just makes it better patch after patch.:IS2:

PS: don't care if nobody reads this, I just needed to gush for a minute. <3

I wrote something similar last night. Yea it's quite special. The bugs will be fixed, sooner or later.

The sewers of Leningrad.
You made me read it. I don't want to start on pace because its 5am lets just say I don't like it. Not hating on you or view of the game but it can get TOO fast sometimes and turn into a tactic-less clusterf**k.

Good post, and yeah, I agree. I had the same experience two nights ago, playing as a Soviet on Commisarhouse. one of my best games on RO2 so far, with a team that was actually working together.

I went for my (delayed) beauty sleep all so happy and in love like a 16 year old girl, and woke up to the MKB Scourge, shattering my dreams and my tender little heart.

You feel just like ROOST players felt when they first played RO1. ;) That said, you should try RO1 sometime, it's far less graphically impressive but to me it's still the more strategic and atmospherically oppressive game of the two.

yeah i prefer smaller player counts, higher player count servers seem like any of the CoD servers :/ all rambo's and campers, and rarely anybody working together.

I come from arma2/operation arowhead where large numbers is a good thing. Never played RO, but small infantry close combat seams like an intense game style. I almost pre-ordered this game untill i seen all the negative post of CTD and poor performance on high end pc's. Maybe after few patch's i'll give it at try.

On Spartanovka, it's golden. Once in a blue moon on the other maps, but there's just too many horrible balance and performance issues on most of them for it to be an enjoyable tactical experience. Barracks, for example, seems like a really cool map. I'd probably love it if I got more than 15-20 fps average on it.

I like the game and I'm going to keep playing, but it can't be said enough: this game needs lots and lots of work. But I trust TWI to do it.

I can honestly say, I have never died so much in any other game, and with such variety of deaths. In fact if I am not seeing my death scene within the first minute of play I get the impression I must be cheating. :)

But it's a great game, and I have lots of fun........ dying.
