think it was mentioned a few times in the thread already but, what about a "simple"(yea right) rework..

not KF2 but KF V2.0

more advanced engine, more stability, better graphics, smoother movement but aside from that the same as the KF we have here today.

more work, i know... also guessing newer engines are a LOT more annoying to work with coz of all the re-worked codes and new options.

i wouldn't mind paying to see an engine upgrade though. (KF on the Unreal 3 engine, hurrah!!)

also .. data transfer would be a *****...

Some things that would make KF2 awesomer:

More specimen, classes and weaps: no brainer

More dynamic maps: A Westlondon crumbling right before you, a Bedlam with a working dancefloor complete with thumping music and dry ice smoke. You know! something that makes the levels come to life :)

Improved AI: IMO the biggest improvement, if you could add intelligence to the ZEDs, imagine a row of gorefasts charging at you from long distances only to have served as a distraction from the crawlers and clots slowing sneaking up on your flanks so you only notice them when it's too late ;)

An unloved firebug: seriously a falmethrower can't be THAT heavy can it?

TWIs tender loving care: seriously guys let's turn the series from a side project into a full blown game, the only real competition is the L4D series, and people are really looking forward to airs immersive, dynamic zombie themed game. And you should be the ones to put it up the that level!!!

I agree with many others we don't need KF2 unless TWI can bring something with the same BANG as KF1 did, which it did from taking a mod and polishing the crap out of it.

More content and improvements to a 2.0 version is better and would build on the community, and not split like CoD MW, MW2 or BO! Well, if KF was a big as CoD, then I guess that is not problem but it is not.

Maybe a new perk and class and a few weapons with new maps or objective type as many said.

I would like to see MORE players up to 12 at once and extended mission objective story based campaigns, in some ways like L4D 1 and 2. Instead of mowing down 10 waves in one setting, let sections unlock as you progress to keep the game moving along.

After playing nearly 30 hours total just to unlock the chickensuit in bedlam, I want more than just to hold strategic areas for 10 rounds.

The old specimentation mod where you had to stay alive and make it to a random trader was a good start... now extend that so you must get from a chopper landing to rescue the trader, who gives you the option to buy stuff (ungrateful dame), and escort her out to a pickup zone... Kinda like VIP mode from TF/CS .... would be intense if the trader was locked to only a small arms... while the team can buff up, just like the movies! :D

Escort or save the trader mode would be quite fun.

I concur even if you and me want the Bren in KF.
The Commando Perk allready serves as a MachineGunner.
All the Commando needs is a G3 or a Galil ARM to be efficient against bigger Specimens :IS2:

I have to say.

did you guys know that killing floor is more played than RO2 over steam? infact it has the doubled playerbase :p it would be rude not making a KF2 :)

and sequels is supose to be more of the same. it is just why they make sequels and not a new game!!

Anyway. I think KF2 should be all about "Weapons", "game modes" and "crossovers".

"game modes"
- classic mode (normal hardcore KF)
- Mission mode
- Search and destroy
- lol all the awzm Ideas I read up over the time I've been on the forums

"crossovers"
who haven't loved the portal event???? i say do more permanent crossovers from other games or real life!!!

- RO2 crossover. Gives permanent worldwar 2 themed shooters. best of all is that they allready have the guns and skins and everything. would be "easy like hell" AND ALOT OF FUN :D I would payed for a RO2 themed stuff for killing floor.
(maybe even fun maps with tanks and mounted guns omg that would be awzm) and suddenly you have a new perk "tank Engineer"

- DA2 crossover. gives permanent futeristic themed? think about all the types of weapons you get? nice for DLC I say :D ofcourse it dont need to be defence alliance, but maybe crossover from some alien shooters. like alien swarm? idk :p possibilities are endless.

in the end I think aslong the humour and the hardcoreness and not focusing in the "realness" this game would be ****ing awzm!

I would also like to see huge possibilities to change between low and high resoloution since I see loads of people have **** computers, like school computers and such making a game compabible with people that have those sorts of computers will make a new army of buyers. I have to be honest that myself dont have enough money buying the newest best computer or upgrading my old one each year. that is also one of the reasons I still play KF.

A KF2 with no industries left standing and so all weapons are improvised and interchangeable. Would be a fun variety of arsenal!

No offense to TWI, but RO is a niche game that they keep expecting to make it really big. It's just not. Myself and my friends tried it and while it's not a BAD game by any means, it just doesn't appeal to us at all. And I'd imagine it's the same for most gamers. And while I know that TWI wants RO to be their "Signature" game, it's just not gonna be as popular as KF.

Sad part is, with how buggy RO2 was on it's release, they're probably gonna be stuck working to fix it for quite a while before they can give us any really significant KF updates.

The biggest problem is that most gamers that have been playing for 8 years or more are sick of WWII games as they have pretty much been done to death.

I treid RO2 (The Beta) because I wanted to support TWI, but I just could not find any enjoyment in it, and ended up getting a refund before the release.

Quite a few game sites and many people in many forums, including this one questioned what TWI was thinking doing yet another WWII genre game.

If RO 1 had been a huge hit, then I could understand it, but to make a sequel to a game that attracted a small niche makes little sense to me.

Perhaps it was a personal achievement for Ramm-Jaeger to achieve RO2? Kind of a dream?

With good detail like Dead Island.

Zombies size like Dead Rising 2. 1000 zombies.

Could be.

Yes! With that said and after RO2-bugs have been fixed, perhaps the mainstream-popular KF will receive some attention!?

TWI could save them a lot of work, time and money and incoorporate custom content ( old news )? KF RPG?

Lets simplify things

Lets simplify things

Question that I ask myself is; would I pay $20 or 30 dollars for KF2 that is exactly the same is killing floor, but with newly added contents once in while? You BET!

Tripwire has won me over as a great developer that stands by their customers. If they ported everything that exists right now in KF, including mission maps, the new weapons, and monster coupled with the new UT3 engine it'd make an awesome game. That alone itself is worth 20 dollars.

The only thing holding back KF is the graphics, and its not TW's fault, its just progress. I always come back to thinking what if Crysis 2 ran on UT2.5 engine? Well I'd loose interest rather quickly, lets face it the game is fun because it looks awesome. KF is fun because its....fun. Now if KF2 ran crytek 2.0....

Also as a gun nut, more is better. The guns themselves doesn't have to do more damage but cosmetics is important to me. Having a ton of mods for each gun that costs different weights would be great.

There are tons of ideas lists and doing all or most of them with mods or muts is fine IF every server were updated with those mods and MUTs but they aren't . Making them standard is the only way to ensure that every server has those contents standard and if they want to delete the additional content, they'd have to run a MUT for that instead.

One last thing I feel very strongly about being able to melee with current guns. Actually, scratch that I just really want to knock around a few ZEDs with the LAW. That MUT is freaking awesome!

I would pay for KF2 but I expect it to have some differences when compared to KF even tough "sequel" means it would not have any large differences.

If it had the Bren (for Gibby), the G3 (for me) and other different weapons serving different roles in order to get a different feeling from KF1 I would be happy. An SKS for example would fit in perfectly in KF2
Some old weapons (like the Winchester 94) SHOULD make a comeback as they are icons of KF.
