Hi guys, I'm new to the forums.:)

I read about this game on the forums of World Of Tanks and after checking out the site I was very interested: finally another WW2 shooter! (I really hate all those modern shooters, it just doesn't feel right).

But I have some concerns about the game: the site looks lowbudget, doesn't give a lot of information, and only 2 teasers with almost no game footage.

And if I never heard of this game before, will others have? Will there be enough players to keep the online MP interesting?

Ps: does anyone know untill what date I can preorder? I'm having some trouble with Paypal at the moment.

Most of the info about the game is in the fact thread.
Also there are a bunch of video's released and are grouped in a thread in this forum.

RO has a decent player base, RO1 still has some full servers afetr such a long time.
RO2 will have a larger player base with a lot more advertising, so it will definately not be empty or anything. Therefore this isn't an issue... really;)

Steam and certain other services already have it available for pre-order

Tripwire is a small developer with big developer production. Don't worry about the site - that'll be the least of your concerns.

The player base is big and growing each day with those who are interested. Servers for the first game are full almost 24/7, the player base for RO2 will be there.

MP is definitely interesting and fresh, numerous post release additions will be coming as well. Three huge conversion mods are in the works already.

Whatever you think about the low budget site and lack of information (tell us about it!) the reality is the game itself is being built in the Unreal 3 engine so you know it's going to look very good. As for WW2 credentials just read some reviews of Red Orchestra 1 and you'll be rest assured these guys know how to make WW2 games.

It's not really a leap of faith it's more a no brainer mate.

As for value for money don't assume the low price implies a shyte product. You get a lot for your money. They don't charge for DLC and expect a lot. For example Killing Floor has had 3 material updates (read maps / game content) and then there's the fun seasonal updates on top of them (Xmas / Summer).

It'll be a game you keep coming back to for sure.

Oh and welcome to the machine!

I like the wbesite....its low key and not over done..i come ..i read...i view images..i view videos....i go..i dont need a bunch of flashy crap dangling in front of my face

I think what he means there isn't a lot of content. How you define content isn't how OP or others define it.

As much as I don't like Codemasters OFP: DR/RR, they had a nice layout with a lot of information. I also love BIS's Arma2.com website. Now that website has a lot of information.

I think that you'll never find an equal WWII shooter, so, buy it!

And remember that there are a LOT of mods included in the price! :D

my advice is buying osfront and see if you like it, thats what i did, its very very cheap, if you like it i guess you will definitely like ro2, just keep in mind osfront is 5 years old so dont expect superb graphics :p

You shouldn't need that much information to realize the game is going to be amazing. Just look at some of the threads here on the forums they are very informative and often contain much information and screenshots. And then again there's always Youtube for videos.
It's not a Call of Duty wowee zowee bang kaboom run n gun shooter, so it doesn't need the advertising style of a wowee zowee bang kaboom run n gun shooter. Just a nice simple show of the games looks and gameplay and the occasional interview or screenshot is what TWI does best and it works perfectly for them.
The multiplayer has a large fanbase already as it's been said before most servers on the first game are often full for the most part. And the fanbase for RO2 will be even larger than the first, so you needn't worry.

That's the same thing I heard about OFP: DR and il2:COD. I remember a few months ago all the il2: COD fan boys on the simHQ forums saying that we didn't need to worry much about the game because it was going to be released and be played and enjoyed because Oleg Maddox creates quality. Look at how that turned out.

In CoD's defence I've been really enjoying it lately and the map packs have really invigorated the franchise. The latest are a set of excellent maps. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but it serves a purpose for sure.

If you want get RO1 should give you a good idea, you'll get a discount too on RO2 so you're basically getting it for "free"... i.e. it pays for itself.

The reason the main site sucks balls, yet the Forums rock your socks, is because the Devs spend all their time on the forums talking to people and developing the game, most players get 90% of their info on the forums.

Its a great system, shows where their heart is, talking to the people!
