Is this game already dead?!

There are NO playable servers for me!

Right now I'm looking at the server list. There are two servers with 22 and 24 people each has a ping of 200 or higher. Every other server has 3 or less people playing.

Has this game already died? It's been like this for me for the last week and it's so ****ING FRUSTRATING! I've checked my filters, checked online, been patient, but I can't even play the game. On servers with over 120 ping I can't aim because of bullet lag and this game sucks playing 2v2 or 3v3.

Are you using the in game server browser or steam? I get more servers to show up for some reason in steam.

Open steam, go to view on top tabs and click servers. Then select RO2. Should be good to go. I got alot of servers showing now.

I wouldn't say the game is dead but I know plenty of people including myself are putting the game on ice until a lot of the problems have been ironed out.

I can't find many servers close to my area, and if they are populated it isn't for very long.

It's not dead ... but it's not much populated , today we had one of the less populated days , only 2138 people playing RO2 ...

I get on occasionally, once the game gets better optimization I'll be getting on a lot more often.

It seems to be for West Coast Hardcore mode at least. There are never any servers populated servers when I check. Always just Central US, East coast, or Europe and so on, which are too laggy for me. Checking on the Steam server list right now, the only populated servers near me with decent ping have a total of 5 players spread out in 3 severs.

Pretty much dead for our 10-78 clan until they release a search and destroy game mode which we've been asking for since 2006.

Lets have a true competitive game mode for clans please. Countdown just doesn't do it.

I have currently 4 servers that have more than 50 players and a quite a few below that.

I have a decent selection of servers with good pings between 20-60 and lots of players..... though I'm in Melbourne, AUS.

You could also check between Ranked, UnRanked, TE, CD, FF matches..... you could also check this:

Look for servers in your country, copy their IP address and when you load up RO2, go into your console and type:

open 216.52.148.76:27015

Or whatever IP address you picked.... then hit enter and it'll load the server.

Add them into your favorites and after you get a good amount loaded up and saved, you shouldn't have an issue with finding servers to play with.

You can also check into your Recently Played list and ones that didn't show up in your regular search, sometimes appear in there.

Unfortunately the RO2 Server Browser does not always show you what's available to you.

It doesn't surprise me..... just look at all the idle servers for TF2 for farming weapons and hats.

Okay something very strange is going on.

I restarted my computer and opened the steam server list and saw loads of servers. I copy Kentucky Fried Gulasch's IP from the gametracker link thrown my way.

I started RO2 and all the sudden only 7 servers showed. I refreshed on the steam menu and all those nice servers disappeared and I can't even connect directly using the IP addresses from gametracker.

I checked my firewall settings and everything looks open like it should allow complete access to RO2.

What the hell is going on...

2,500 is the number of players who logged on throughout the day. Not the number that is currently online.

If I get on 7th cav for 1 second, and log off for the day, I count towards the 2,500~. Doesn't mean I'm currently playing.

Good news, we still have a couple thousand who turn the game on everyday.

Bad news, only about 4-5 servers have any consistent population, thank god they are PB secured.

I haven't played in a while because I have finals coming up and I sleep pretty early.

I'm also waiting for Tripwire to fix the annoying stuff like lack of a separate Cover button and so on.

I'm also waiting for mods and new maps. I want some longer range RO1-style maps.

Yup I would love to agree with some but I have been playing RO since 2006 and fell in love with it. I upgraded my system to potentially be able to play it in Sept of 2010. Well now that i have purchased Two that is TWO copies of RO2 one which I gave to a friend in Germany. I do feel let down! And embarrassed. The Clan I am in was to be a big supporter! But 2 weeks is not a Beta not with a game that had so many playable issues, hopefully this whole fiasco will be a learning experience. The Clan was in full support of RO2 but that has fallen to the wayside. Not by just BF3! But buy in large the way RO2 was released to the public! The Beta was a joke, more of a way to appease the people that purchased RO2 Deluxe as I did! Yes the pressure from BF3 and COD may be there but to release a product that is beyond 85% complete is just wrong!
I understand that time may have been of the essence but this game may have lost more players than it may have gained in the long run.
I know other players feel the same way, we shall see what happens when the game matures a bit more and the mod community comes into play.

I played the game a ton the first month, and im preety good at it, which helps alot. But BF3 just came out so ill be playing that for a while and wait for the final needed kinks to get unkinked with HOS.

And then ill be back in full.
