[Is this a bug or not??]Whole screen turn red and white when dying

That's it.
Today I was playing Filth's cross(commando LV6) and it was wave 7/7. I took out the first FP and the second one pound me into HP=21 armor=none.

Normally I should have my sight flashing red(but can still see),yes? I reckon so,but TODAY my sight turn white and red,flashing! I:"Oh **** I am blind!"

However,I can still see the health bars and managed to take out the zeds. I healed myself,and the strange scene disappeared.

The question is: Is this a bug? If not,how to activate it instead of activating the normal red flashing sight?

Normal red flashing sight? Try disabling motion blur, it sounds like your graphics card doesn't support the required shader version for the damage effects.

I noticed one day I had the exact same problem - whenever my health would go down to about 20-30, it's as if my screen had an epileptic fit, causing me to only see the HUD - the only fix was to heal. I only survived because people on Ventrilo told me which directions to turn so I didn't run into a wall. But after I closed the game, the next time I ran it, I was fine. Good luck on finding a fix.

Um,if you wish a even more detailed description...My sight flashes between red and white screen,the color fills the screen like the "blue screen" in windows system. The white screen is NOT transparent,take special attention.

PS: I disabled EVERY selectable choice EXCEPT projection. Reasons? At least I need to be able to see the flashlight and M14 red dot...

I selected all selectable levels to "low" since my graphics card is not very good(it's a laptop...)

The name of the graphic card is Nvidia Geforce 9300M GS (512MB/dell)
The brand of my laptop is Dell inspiron 1427.
