Is there going to be a retail copy for Linux?

I currently run Steam through Wine/Cedega (each work better for certain games) and I've purchased Killing Floor through steam. I am going to give it a go on Wine/Cedega once it downloads and see if that works but I was wondering if there is going to be a retail release for the Linux platform? I much prefer to run games nativly if I can, but I guess Wine is a good second option. I was poking around online and saw past versions of the Mod had been released on Linux, will this be the case for the retail as well?

There will need to be a linux client for Steam first.

Why can't there be a non-steam retail release?... World of Goo did that, they released on both steam and a copy for Linux/Mac

Yeah I asked http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=859640 there and everyone like WINE/CROSSOVER and I /facepalm

Because Steamworks is completely integrated into the game.

perks, server browser, everything.

Ahh Lucky I did not know that. Ahh well, I figured that like with most commercial games this one would lose Linux support. Heres to hoping it works at a decent frame rate through Wine

Ahh Lucky I did not know this. Maybe some day in the distant future Steam will release other platform clients for games that are already (or where at one point) cross platform. For now here is to hoping it gets decent frame rate through Wine

I guess this retail steam copy is the death of the mod for Linux... Wine and Cedega both crash out when trying to play. Cedega does not even load the game and Wine crashes out when you try to join a server.
