Is there any way to block/ignore someone on this forum?

current ignore list doesn't really work right, it doesn't hide the post, only the message in it, it would be best if you didn't know that the guy posted at all.

yeah it hides the message and tells you that if you want to see it then you have to remove the author from your ignore list........so pretty much you're ignoring the person's post but still fully aware of their existance :D

You would be anyway, because others who don't ignore the poster are likely to reply to his posts, ignore just can't remove a person from your interbutts.

That's why i've never bothered with it, hell knows i have met people on forums that made me want to brutally murder them with allmost every post, but ignore just doesen't work.

same, but it would still be better if it hides the whole post, as long as nobody quotes him, it would at least spare your memory from reading one more post from him

Better still would be if when enough people put a user on ignore it alerts the local authorities and they get an unfriendly knock on their door by men in long leather trenchcoats.

A good idea imho, but I have a feeling we'll need to wait for the next version of vbulletin before it's supported...

i get that you're making a joke....but that would be what the "report post" feature is for :D

since you mentioned it, may i suggest 4.0.x? never know, perhaps that functionality does exist with the most recently released version.....upgrade upgrade upgrade! :)

although i find it odd that anyone would have such issues with people on internet forums to need to "block" them, the simpliest solution would be to:

just.ignore.them. (i.e. self-discipline) ;)

I honestly don't know of anyone on this forum who's posts are so maddening and offensive that I would want to be completely unaware of their existence. But, if this person is targeting you specifically, in public or private, then that's not right.
