what kind of lag do you mean. graphical lags/stuttering, low fps? or just the netcode, bad ping?

i only got lags on a few servers - but most of them run quite well. If it is low fps or frame stuttering/skipping - first try something like fraps to detect how many fps you get. If the fps are very low beneath 40 you should try to disable some graphical settings. For example try to decrease Anti Aliasing Mode and then look how it attempts your fps in-game.

I dont know how you treat your system. Maybe try a new driver for your videocard (amd/ccc or nvidia).

If it still remains there are a lot of things which can lead into system-stuttering. But if you didnt try that, just give it a chance.

my pings stay at 120-200 in US servers (i'm connecting from Brazil) when its above 200 I start to get accused of speed hacking by punkbuster :(

as for video lag I gained huge FPS improvement from the last patches but I play the game in mid-low settings because my system is years old. phenom II X4 2.6ghz GPU Geforce 8600GT and 6gb ram.

also is there a way to see your FPS in game?

Stop playing in 64-man servers. Seriously......

Play in 24-32 man servers and you'll almost never experience any lag of any kind. That has been the experience of many.

Open the console with the tilde key (~) and type "stat fps"

Note, that's not start fps. :)

For the record, no I have no issues with lag while playing.

I usually have up to 6-8 populated servers with pings below 60 to choose from, and a pile more that are above 200.

I tried with my graphics on lowest and still lags. Its kinda of I run and make some kind of sliding steps, like all of a sudden I am 2 meters more forward then i should be. It goes for all direction. Well I am reinstalling the game maybe it will help. I am desperate. BTW my FPS is around 60.

It`s the game itself which have much stutter/lags.

I played 2 weeks ago some missions in the offline campaign.
Most missions i had much lag and stopped playing it.

Online is much better. Strange but true.

Only if I join servers that can't cope with their load, someone downloads/refreshes elsewhere in the house or things are incredibly busy on a good server and everything chugs for a few seconds.

Other than that I have no lag to speak of.

If you get warping and high pings (on servers that seemed to have low pings in the browser) punkbuster is actually the problem. Try playing on a non-PB server for better netcode performance.

Other than that, yeah, play on 32 player servers.
