I think I should just take a break from the forums for a few months, cuz man, I'm getting so sick of all this crap about Tripwire selling out, they ruined my game, they released a lemon, they took away this, they added that, my computer is crap but they didn't bend over backwards to fix my own problems, Red Orchestra has small maps, there's too many assault, there's not enough riflemen, I don't like zoom, I don't like bandaging, I don't like stats, I don't like unlocks, RO1 was so much better, I'm an RO1 vet, I'm a war expert, blah blah, frick'n blah...
RO1 sure as hell wasn't a spring chicken when it first came out, and RO:CA sure wasn't perfect when it first came out either.
But RO:CA became a monster of a mod/game. It got patched, vehicles were added over time, more weapons, more maps, more in-game features. I knew people who just bought UT2k4 just to play the mod.
Same thing with RO1. Tripwire continually patches, updates and adds piles to their games long after official release, making them far more than what they originally were.
RO2 has been out for how many days now?
6?
And here you all are ready to execute the prisoner before the trial, while trying to compare a freshly released game to its older counter-part that had years of work, patches and additions tossed into it to make it what it is today, while thinking Tripwire works the same way as other devs. (patch to fix bugs & then leave it after a year or so, and charge you for additional addons)
It's an unfair judgement.... and an ignorant one at that.
The game is 6-7 days old, and people are trying to predict the future of the game & Tripwire as a dev.
Come back in 6 months and predict something... not 6 days, cripes.
