The other night I joined a server, and these creeps started FREAKING out. One guy and I quote: "Oh my god you guys, oh my god, there is a girl in here, holy crap. Oh man. Whats up girl?"

Are you serious? Haha. Just a little reminder, GIRLS DO PLAY VIDEO GAMES, and maybe you're SO surprised for a reason. Do you get any action at all?

Maybe they act that way because the majority of "girl gamers" are obnoxious and attention-seeking. I'm not saying you're like that because I have no idea whether you are or not, but the way many girls act in games (CSS is particularly bad) does not help their position at all.

In my experience most guys in KF aren't annoying toward girls. I never make my gender clear unless I use voice chat or something, and even then they start referring to me as "she" and that's that.

Sad to say but yea I've seen tons of people react like that when they hear a female voice in chat.

Over the past years the gaming community has grown a lot, and I say its nice to see women enjoy what guys enjoyed for decades, video games.

Its refreshing to see when I come home from work and I find my girlfriend yelling into the mic "RIGHT FLANK NUMB NUTS!!" when she is playing COD, or "MEDIC DAMMIT!!" when she's playing KF.

The only draw back is now I have to wait even longer to get onto my computer when I get home. lol

I have to agree with this. So many obnoxious teenage girls have that "Look at me, I'm a chick playing video games, don't you want me?" mentality that bleeds through in the way they act; obnoxious guys respond appropriately. If you're finding that it's the majority of players acting this way, then perhaps it is your attitude that is egging males on (I'm not saying this is the case, just making a point). If you're just trying to keep your head down and play the game, most guys will show you respect. If the few still acting inappropriately bother you that much, then masking your gender via removing any pictures of yourself and not using voice chat, or simply finding a new server when "creeps start freaking you out" may improve your enjoyment of the game.

About every other time I play Killing Floor and someone uses a mic, it's a girl. I think it's cool, I'm used to playing with them on TF2. It's no different, they play better than me, and I treat them the same as everyone else. Shyly and too nice.

there are girls in my clan, the people who troll them do the whole, "omg youre a girl!!!! omg!!!", ive seen it a million times, they do it to try and get a reaction out of the girl by making them feel unique.

hahaha, man i dont care. you can insult me any way you like. all i said was my opinion on it. at the end of the day, when all is said and done: those guys in that server really dont care about the existence or gender of someone on a KF server. just like we dont care about the existence or gender of someone on a KF forum.

oh snap cojak, my advice: when some guys start freaking out about your gender, pay no attention to them because they just want to get your attention. they dont really care about what sex you are, theyre just looking for a reaction. its sad that guys do this but now you know.
