Alright guys and gals, I see a lot of people talk about the IS-2, I believe I wasn't there for the punch line. I've been here for around December? I'd like to know why does everyone like the IS-2 so much?

Haven't been on the forums for over a month now, so as the premier IS2-hating Natsi-fanboi I'll enlighten you.
Several years ago a fiercely patriotic Russian with a poor grasp of English created a thread in the Historical section of the forums with the title "IS2 Greatest Tank of WW2" claiming the titular tank was superior to any German vehicle of the period. Several knowledgeable individuals responded with well cited rebuttals, which the Russian attempted to parry with his own research.
After some civil debate the thread fell off the radar for sometime. Until, of course, some genius decided to make a localized meme out of it.
While I have no problem with people having their fun, the orginal thread is no longer worthy of the Historical subforum. Seeing as all mature, on-topic discussion ended after pages 7-10. Note how the thread is now in excess of 60 pages.

That sounds like it explains it, I heard the IS-2 had bad optics and not enough radios for the Soviet force to be in full effect... but then look on the Germans side, all the equipment, just not enough tanks....

aye, its a meme for the forums around here, and, despite some people's attitudes, its really quite humorous at times.

I believe it should be the requirement of every newly registered user on these forums to read the Holy Book of :IS2: and answer a short test on its basic teachings.

IS-2 fired it's holy rear-mounted DT-28 into the heaven so the sacred 7.62x54R tracers could give light on the earth, govern the day and the night, and separate light from darkness. And IS-2 said, “Let the water teem with lesser tractors, and let mini-tractors fly above the earth across the vault of the heaven.” So IS-2 created the lesser tractors of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged tractor according to its kind. I'm with Alvin and I was one of the earlier posters in that thread. It became mildly funny for about a week and it ceased being so soon after that. Now it is just annoying...
