"The lamps are going out all over Europe; we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime."
Sir Edward Grey, Britain's Foreign Secretary, August 1914
You enjoyed the first three mods for Red Orchestra.
The first three mods were great . . . but you know you want a fourth one.
Well, here's your opportunity to play a role in making a fourth mod for RO:
Iron Europe: 1914-1916, the first planned release for a mod based on the first two years of warfare on the Western Front during the First World War.
Over the last year, our team has grown from just four people to its present membership of twelve.
But we need more.
We are seeking volunteers to help work on the mod. Anyone who wants to help work on the mod at our forum site is more than welcome.
You don't need any experience, although, of course, that would definitely be welcome.
Even if you don't know how to make a map or model a weapon, that's fine.
We welcome beginning Modders who have a desire to learn new skills and work on the mod.
Specifically, we are looking for help in these areas:
1)
Researchers: No computer modding skills required!
Help research Maps for Iron Europe: ability to Google, gather relevant websites and photos pertaining to the Map.
2)
Mappers: Anyone who wants to learn how to map using the free videos at 3dBuzz.com or would like to make a map for Iron Europe based on the maps that are still open (Langemarck, Gheluvelt, Gommecourt (Somme), Delville Wood).
Also, additional maps are available for our proposed Second Release based on the final two years of the war).
You can pick just one, or however many you would like to map.
3)
Writers: Iron Europe is going to feature longer, fuller Map Introductions and Unit Descriptions so you, the Player, will be able to better understand the battles that took place and the men who fought them.
If you enjoy reading military history and always wanted to try and write some yourself, or you just like to write in general and would like to see your writing published in an Iron Europe map, become a Writer!!!
No computer modding skills required!
4)
Modelers
5)
2d Artists
6)
Coders
We simply meet at the forum website and post our work and ideas there:

(We have a lot, and I mean
a lot of information inside the Developer's Forum which you'll have access to if you join the Modding Team.)
Whatever time you are able to give is appreciated; we are flexible (for people who are going on vacation, busy with something, and definitely school and exams), but we are trying to get as much work on the mod as we possibly can this summer, before school starts up again.
If you are interested, just PM me, Gamburd, here at the RO Forum.
The Great War, or First World War, gained such titles from the unprecedented scale on which it was fought from the outset. There had never been so great a concentration of armed force in world history as that which formed the respective blocs ranged against each other in August 1914.
