-Operation Arrowhead / Combined Operations Support-

Although the modification will load with Combined Operations it has not been optimised fully and therefore at this time we cannot fully support it. We hope to shift development over to Combined Operations with our first patch so full support is coming!
Operation Arrowhead (standalone) will remain unsupported due to our use of base ARMA2 units. The modification may work but we have not tested the standalone version at all.

Here's a brief summary of what is included in version 2.0. Be sure to check the classlist.txt for a full list of units objects weapons and ammunition:

-Changes from the ArmA1 release-

Several things were removed from this release because they were either causing problems that would have needlessly delayed a release, or could not be completed in time. Most prominent of these are the Waffen SS units, which were causing crashes. They will be added back in a "Waffen SS" DLC package later on along with other content. Other things that could not be included right now will be either reintroduced in the DLC, or in a patch. The original single-player campaign was removed since it proved hard to port to ARMA2. It has been replaced by several MP missions, most notably "D-Day" and "D+1".


-Known issues-

Most of the bugs (80-90%) in this release are graphical bugs and RPT errors. We are aware of many of these bugs, and do intend to fix them in the next release. They were working on this mod right when Arma2 was released. You can't just expect them to stop everything and switch to newer and sort of different engine. If they did that, we would never have any mods. Plus, they said the are going to eventually go to CO.

I have gotten pretty much every mod, unit, island, etc. that was made before OA to work with CO. Outside of some in-game mission CTD's there is no general buggyness or broken features that I have experienced. Give it a try and find out, it most likely will work.

I just took the plunge and tried the mod. It's surprisingly polished, there are some nice ideas(working vehicle sights rocked!) and quite a lot of content. I say go ahead download and support this mod. It reminds me of the early ages of Red Orchestra :)

Looks interesting, but I am not going to buy Arma2 for it.

Mr Moe...The only two games that have been on my computa's none stop since release are something BI & something TWI.
HL & Quake don't count.

Expand your game play experience and buy ArmAII/CO.
Any questions, just ask...

Every single download location won't work for me. I click download the first time, it starts, and then dies after 300mb for no reason. Then I click download again and it gets 200kb and it shuts down. Other websites I can't do a "save link as" because I can't contact the IP. I find it hard to believe that 3 separate download locations ALL don't work for me. The only thing I can download is a patch from filefront.

Tried it, and its looking good :)

The British Commando soldiers really lend themselves well to some good old Hidden and Dangerous mission remakes.
Making the very first mission of H&D1 on Thirsk right now ^^

Ahhh as soon as there's a CO sale I'm all over this.

CO is only $49.99. That's a pretty good deal for both games.

Right now you don't need CO for Inv44. Untill they port it over to CO, which will probably be a couple of months from now.

If I purchase CO and install both Arma 2 and OA, can I still install this mod without problems? Or is CO like one single game? Arma2 is 40 bucks and CO is 50 so if I were to get the game now I would just get CO.

Also, is this the same mod where some others and I posted Eastern Front screens? I can't find that thread.

Is performance for this mod on par with normal Arma2/OA?

Lastly, is the mod populated or are you guys doing scheduled play sessions or anything?

The mod in it's current state only uses Arma2. While the dev. team stated that it does work "sort of" on CO, it's not recommend until they port it over to CO at a later time.

This mod doesn't include the Eastern Front. That is being made by some Ukrainian group and don't remember the name of the mod.

Lastly, is the mod populated or are you guys doing scheduled play sessions or anything?

As with all newly released mods, the community is rather small, consisting of around seven servers under 40 slots. As the product becomes more polished, I can this becoming a rather popular mod. There is already an interested in the realism community to help see it succeed.

Seems impressive, but man, did I have some serious tunnel vision watching that.

Which is my fear for ROHOS. If I play ArmA I continuously move around in the zoomed in mode as otherwise I won't be able to spot enemies before they spot me.

With HOS getting fov zoom i'll probably do the same, unless I'm in a building.

So, i'm making some Hidden and Dangerous mission remakes, or at least planning to.
I got one finished already, the very first mission of H&D1. However, i could use some feedback on the missions you would like to see return.
For example, the mission where you sneak through a town in civvies to steal a boat, or the one where your group gets scattered during a paradrop and you have to find all your teammembers again at a rendezvous, what were the missions that stood out for you, and what made you like them?

Looks ok... as much as I like these weapon/country mods for ArmA 1/2, I would prefer if a mod team just polished what we already had.

Once you play one, you play them all. All the vehicles/weapons feel the same.



Give animations to all the weapons, make both the lasers and flash lights workable, model both types of reloading, tweak the aiming and movement, separate the fire mode selector from the weapon selection key ect.

Make a mod like that, and I will download it.


Which is my fear for ROHOS. If I play ArmA I continuously move around in the zoomed in mode as otherwise I won't be able to spot enemies before they spot me.

With HOS getting fov zoom i'll probably do the same, unless I'm in a building.


This is one of my major issues so far with HoS. It is what made the aiming so smooth and easy in Ost (like it should be). In ArmA it is a pain.
