I just love the supersonic cracks. Best suppression effect there is. So much better than RO2s measly whizzes.

However... the map design is just too much for me. I can live with all the other stuff they've done, but with maps like that, I don't think I will enjoy it.

Not sure you can call Q/E for Lean, X for change rate of fire and Z for prone advanced features (7:45 on the vid)

Anyway doesn't seem to offer much that's different, can't see any real innovation

The M1 Carbine Paratrooper is an odd weapon choice. Looks like they are using the half M249/Minimi model as well (the original one in INS before they replaced it with a proper M249). :p

Hope they get the funding they need.

Yeah it's weird hearing stuff like that. It's like the fps genre hasn't progressed since 2006 and nobody acknowledges it.

Well, for the most part, it hasn't.

Meh INS2 looks alot like INS mod right now, and IMO that's not a good thing. I think the mod was beset by poor map design (spawn camping simulator), stiff animations, and laser-like weapons with no sway. All of this resulted in a pretty forgettable gameplay experience for me, even though the developers clearly were talented and made some nice assets.

In some versions there was a nice (not overdone) suppression effect that made return fire a bit challenging. Though they changed their stance in regards to realism after the first release.

Now it seems like they are making the game more along the lines of BF3. It might turn out okay, though I think I will just play BF3 as I know there is a decent player base. And it is far better graphics. :p

So we have to pay $20 to get into the Alpha test? Or is it free with a secret access code? I wouldn't mind trying it for free, but I am not sure if I'd spent money on it. I learned my lesson with RO2 and INS2 seems to be going a similar path. :p

It's $20 for the game and pre-alpha, it's like a glorified pre-order...

And I still don't know what you see in BF:3 which done What RO:2 did only about 10 times worse...

Yea you have to pay to take part in the shaping of the game. It is nothing to try out really as the game is not ready yet for the "released game treatment", main reason to play it at this stage is so that you would be able to help them improve it. Yesterday I think a dev mentioned that they might release the game in 6 months or so, and I have seen "release later this year" mentioned earlier.

They are not looking for people to try the game out, but to help shape it.

In regards to the game, playing with full friendly fire, no hoovering player names and no kill notifications is freaking awesome :D. Options that already are in the game =).

Why there are so few weapons? CS had more weapons in its beta 10+ years ago...

Maybe it is because its in alpha state and therefore many of the weapons have not gotten a makeover yet. Weapons like the M1014 and FAL, which were in the initial release of INS1, are not seen here. I assume that is the case.

At $20 I won't pay to be able to offer opinions. If someone can convince them to not make the same mistakes as RO2 did, go for more weapon realism, restore the old squad/class system, and to make the game overall more realistic then please do it. :p

Number of weapons in a game is an interesting thing. You only need a few to fill the important roles in a game, and having CS as an example is a bit funny as the amount of actually used weapons in CS was/is a lot lower than the actual number. How many weapons are there in RO2? Sufficient I'd say.

RO2 is totally different case. In RO2 the weapons are "faction locked" while in Insurgency 2 we are not restricted to Russian, German, US or other weapons only.

Its not about if we have enough weapons in RO2 but are those weapons RU or GER made... In Insurgency 2 they can add whatever weapons they want.
