Instead of bodies just....disappearing.

Tell me this hasn't happened to you:

You kill the Patriarch, line up yourself quickly before you are frozen in place, and commence pounding a stream of money onto his corpse. Unfortunately, mid-money stream, he just disappears.

This is the same with any specimen in KF, they just 'disappear.'

Don't get me wrong, I understand that this is for performance issues and that there is a mutator out there that keeps bodies around and tanks gfx cards, but:

Couldn't there be some sort of effect that happens to the bodies that would explain them not showing up anymore?

They disintegrate, burst into some weird clone fluid, burst into flames, SOMETHING so they don't just disappear on the ground before your very eyes?

My own personal hell
They only disappear while in you view depending on the server and your settings. It really doesn't bother me because I rarely see it happen. In the same vein would be things like disabling dynamic lighting (ie your flashlight doesn't do anything for you). Making specs dissolve would only put more stress on the computer or server that you intentionally decreases settings for.

It does look kind of cheesy the way the zeds neatly drop into the floor, would be nice to have some kind of decay animation for a more professional look. Players should be allowed to disable the animation in their advanced video settings.

wel, try out the "i need bodies" mutator.....all the ragdolls stay for pretty much the whole round.

i have to say......it is EPIC. only problem is that it can strain servers and for people with lower end systems, you'll get a lot of lag.

Yeah a simple melting decay animation like in RE would be find with me. I always found it funny how the bodies just disappear.

But how the heck can a person melt?

Well, who knows. They melt in other zombie games without much explanation. Some BS theory like "when dead, ZEDs secrete a bacteria that consumes the body. This Bacteria was developed by Horizon to prevent the capture of Zeds for study." or some other random explanation. But no explanation is just fine for me as well.

Even good computers can get some nasty lag from it. Even 'ol Gusone had to turn it off on their server...

Hmm I dont really care about the disappearing dead bodies, but what I find disturbing is insta-disappearing after a kill, without even falling animation. I mean, sometimes when you kill a fleshpound (or any enemy I think) with a headshot they might just disappear right away like they were some sort of balloons LOL. Mostly happens on pandemonium if I recall correctly.
