ok in this infantry rant/howto i just want to go over a few ways you should fight AND ways you can fight to make things better for your teamates.
Gaynades1!
The proper use of grenades is something many people lack, far to many people use them as lottery tickets, and melee weapons. let me first say that its not a sin to die with grenades on you! Far to many people just throw grenades in "the general direction" of the enemies units, this is BAD ladies and gentlemen, thats the second greatest cause of stupid and accidental teamkills. USE grenades on positions where you know theres enemies, IE: a machinegunner, guys dug in somewhere, before entering a building that is ocupied by enemies (make sure the cap marker isnt flashin or you might be about to tk). about the grenade being used as a melee weapon, this is a dirtier style of play that i myself use sometimes when im in a tight spot, however its unadvisable because you might tk some teamates.
General Fighting
Ok heres where rant mode is on, many people like to get completely into cover, heres the thing guys, your not going to die if your ro soldier dies, dont be a pussy and a coward. you see when thers a bunch of you inside a cap zone all hunkered down, and theres enemies trying to take it back, number 1: your teamates who are firing at the enemies are taking MORE fire because you dont have your head up, NUMBER 2: your alot more likely to defend your cap on that zone if your shooting at the enemies. also, when you advance into a cap zone, play defensive if YOUR CAPPING, but go offensive if they nuetralize the cap, or start to recap it. theres no sence in dieng if your capping it, but once their capping it back, fast action MUST be taken in order for the capping to continue; because you know what theyr going to do after they recap? theyr going to hunt you down, but they will be hiding somewere if the cap is going well for them , which makes them great targets for a well placed nade or a few bullets.
When to do that whole back to back thing
simple answer, never, its alot better to stay atleast 10 to 15 feet from your nearest teamate, you can still cover them just as well from this distance. but why not stay close together, well close together infy is called 1 thing, A GRENADE F*KING MAGNET. so yes, when your moving up, dont go prone next to another soldier, give yourself atleast 10 to 15 feet away from him , thatway if somone saw you moving up and nades you , the OTHER guy dosent die because you got your a$$ naded!
Just pretend the area around your machinegunner and sniper is like a minefield, bad area to go, unless your giving your machinegunner ammo, its agreat idea to stay away from them, as they are already grenade magnets enough by themselves.
You know your also a F#$&#$&^% idiot, when you dont have lots of points at the end of the round from being in the cap zone. im sick and tired of maps where i get into the cap lots , but because im either 1 extremly outnumbered, or 2 i have a boltei instead of a semi or smg, i get killed, well shizzle, it happens, but if i had had a few teamates there coverin my arse, all would have been well and the position capped.
Back to something i said earlier, when staying behind cover, its good to let enemies know your there, that way the people who they are aiming at and trying to surpress is a greater number. by doing that much, the people who actually ARE returning fire will have less enemies trying to pick them off, and can therefore get sh1t done.
so long and the short of some of that stuff above either return fire at the enemies, or keep them shooting at you so your teamates can!
also remember GYAINFC
get your ass in the F cap!!!you are worthless to your teamsitting 500 feet back trying to pick off pixels, please people try and remember you get 10 points for a cap, so thats the equivalennt of sitting back there and getting 10 kills, AND your team will thank you for it, while most of us regulars would love you open up your gizzards with a bayonet from behind ...
also if theres somone on voip trying to get some teamwork going, please try to work with them instead of just sitting there doing what you were doing before and not listening.
EDIT: MOVEMENT:
ahh yes how could i dare forget, this game can be played like others, chage like cattle direcltly at the cap zone!!, but that ususaly results in the other team having 99% reinfs while you have 2%. so short form, dont play ro like a movie, play it more like paintball, imagine cover is your friend, because it is, so advance from cover to cover, and dont stop in the open unless you want my rifle bullet in your skull...
