I don't know about you guys, but I quickly become bored with the $50-shiny-graphics-yawn-inducing-gameplay type games they feed us these days.. For the last couple of years I've been keeping an eye on indie games, and I must say, there are some real gems out there.

Like this one for example - Viva Caligula! http://tigsource.com/articles/2007/10/02/viva-caligula#comments - complete with mic integration, so when you yell SPARTAAAAAA! into the mic our wacky friend Caligula builds up RAMPAGE MODE!

Check out this site http://www.tigsource.com/ (one of dozens) and rekindle the 'fun' in your gaming. Yeah, remember when gaming was challenging and fun? Or you could always drop a chunk of money just to say 'neat' a few times and then shelf the game in it's glossy box with all the others :p (remember, Portal started out as an indie game)

Of course there are probably people here who've gone through every one of these indie titles and websites - and I'm proud of you for that - but there are most certainly those that continually bump their heads up against CoD4, Halo and Madden with their unfailing moth-to-flame tendencies. There's a whole underground universe out there - explore it! :D:D:D

Did you know that Yahtzee creates games, too? You know, the fast-speaking Brit that makes Zero Punctuation.

Check out this game by him called "TRILBY: The Art Of Theft".

Was released last week. It's a 2D stealth platformer, and it's pretty cool. Doesn't require installation so no excuse not to try it.:D

I'll have to check out more games by him...
