Level Design Increase range of Particle System render

Hey, you could create a new particle system in your package and copy the properties from the TWI particle system one by one and then adjust the LOD settings as you please. As long as you don't make any changes to any existing TWI packages everything should work fine.

I did this to make a fancy portal effect, initially I tried changing the color using color over life but for some reason made a change to "FX_MAT.lib" and corrupted my game files. So watch out for that!

Also I got a friend to test my map and make sure the *new particle system works, which it did.

I found this post on the Epic forums that might be relevant.

https://forums.epicgames.com/thread...ects-disappear-when-camera-not-facing-emitter

Sounds like you can adjust the 'bounds' settings on the emitter so that it displays no matter what if the player is within that defined x/y/z space around the emitter.

It looks like LOD settings may come into play as well.

I don't know how much of this is relevant to the KF2 UDK but might be helpful.

Yo LiquidArrow, I had the same issue where the emitter would disappear if I moved away a certain distance. It has to do with emitter distance culling settings.

You're gonna have to right click the emitter, create a copy, and save it to you own map since you'll need to change the particle system settings. Edit the particle system. Click on each of the particle's "Required" group and mess around with the "distance culling" parameters

I'll have to try this when I get the chance and let you know if it works!
