The MKB42 was an April fools for those still worried :p

Apart from that the character models are new and we'll have updates on the rest of the US character variations shortly.

Not what I expected really. The uniforms look very clean. I was expecting something AT LEAST good as the characters' look in BC2 Vietnam. Patches, bruises, blood splatters, scars, vests, rolled up sleeves, stuff attached to the helmet such as smokes, water, a death card for the squad leaders, stuff like that. These folks look like they just got into the battlefield or the game takes place in the first week of the war.

This doesn't change anything. I mean you see 1-2 heroes in the server at best. 1 or 2 soldiers with proper uniforms won't fix the rest immersion breaking dressed soldiers.

Depends on the implementation. In RO2, you would be more-so correct in saying this, however, if you look at RS, the Vet rank starts becoming more distinct (rolled up sleeves, more grass on the Japanese helmets) and you can have an unlimited amount of them.

Just FYI, things like blood/dirt/patches will be layered on in-game, so yes you are looking at the base art. This is mostly a consequence of acquiring the images from inside the game editor, maybe with more setup time we can enable that in future presentations.

It's also interesting to note that there are engine / skeletal rig hurdles in the way of doing lots of exposed arm (no shoulder bones in the head+arm meshes!) - but we do have a workaround. These past weeks we've overhauled the US character art in its entirety to be able to achieve much of what Rattler is concerned about.

Community input on how we can work with / modify the existing heroes system remains welcome. Just remember our limited working budget... maybe Harb can remind me what that amounts to? :p

We are pleased to present the first group shot of the US Army multiplayer classes. In this first part we will be taking a closer look into the roles of the Grunt, Radioman, Specialist and Platoon Leader with full load-out information and interactive 360

Honestly, I hope its random...

Same. Should be a random probability based off of real life distribution. A simple google search tells me African Americans were about 12.5% of Vietnam troops. So a 12.5% probability sounds fair. It also says Hispanics were about 5.2% of troops, so it would be nice to be represented even if it's just a simple skin tone change. :p
