Is there still a server online with this mutator?
I can't seem to find any. (Unranked, yes I know).

Once this get whitelisted, I don't think there will be any server without this mutator!

If only of them big server with constant 64 players every night will use it some time in the future it would be great... Only chance I can think of having a popular unranked server... How are we going on the whitelist progress? Any news?

About the sound we know from giving ammo to an machinegunner:

I have speak about it some weeks ago. But there is no more sound for that action in RO2/RS :(

:cool: That's the only thing holding me back. As soon as I know it's whitelisted, I'll give it a shot.

I'll submit it soon guys, don't worry. Its scope has expanded quite a bit, and I want to make sure everything plays nice together.

These are the things I want to finish before I submit it:

-Fix Maxim, C96, and MG34 (single and lower ROF mode on the tripod version) sounds

-Make gun sounds a configurable option server side.

-Make new shrapnel effects a configurable option server side.

-Reincorporate the NoZoom mod, find out and fix why it crashes servers, and make it a configurable option server side.

These are my hurdles at the moment.

My real problem though is time. I do construction work all week, 200 miles from home. So I'm left to my thoughts, which usually turn here. Then I get home full of ideas and I push them all in over a 32 hour period :D I have still more things I want to try right now, lol.

But I have to submit it sometime, and there are certain things I don't think I can fix without dev help, like the crash from the command line on servers, certain aspects of death animations, and random crashes in general.

Here's to hoping they'll help me out ;)

I appreciate all the support from you guys. I understand holding off on running this thing till it's white listed (players can be fickle about their stats, and I know some just flat out won't play on an unranked server because of it.) BUT people have to be playing this thing and really pushing for it if it's to have a chance at whitelisting, because it makes some pretty serious changes to the game. Someone's gotta take the plunge. And it's a risk. I wish stats weren't so important to people but that's reality.

I think it was in a recently necroed thread (the historical realism one?) that I saw a post by Yoshiro basically stating that if the community wanted those kinds of changes, it should make them itself in the form of mods/mutators and see how they played, and IF they were popular they would consider including them.

Well, this is my effort at that :)

I know everyone is antsy to get this white listed, but really, you've made such huge progress and widely expanded the scope of this mutator that it's unreasonable to expect it soon. I'm dying to see this in game as it'll be one of the biggest improvements seen to date, but I know it'll take a while to get it working to your satisfaction. Don't worry about it, submit it when you're happy with it and we'll be patiently wait.

Exactly. And if someone hosts an unranked server with some bots to test your mutator, than that is where you will find me. Now I'm even playing more offline due to the mutator :D.

I thank you for the efforts and the wisdom to make sure it's right before you apply for whitelisting. if and when someone get around to putting you "finished" version on a server. i'll be spending all my free time on that server. I only wish I had any talent at all to contribute to your efforts. alas, all I have to offer is hot air. ;)
stats be damned. they killed the game from the start. :(

Not only have they hurt the game, look at what they've done to the modding community. It's so sad to see this server go empty because it's in the unranked section.

There already is one, Mutator Testing Server hosted by Cat in the Hat. It's in Australia, so you're looking at 250 ping from the US. Also it's empty, because nobody goes to the unranked servers.

About white listing.. I've always felt it was more a tool devised to force modders to do things "their" (TWI) way.

Odd, we didn't need that sort of flaming hoop for RO, DH etc.... we all just played and enjoyed. If we wanted a mod we tried it and if we liked it we used it. Now we must wait for someone to become motivated enough to test and whitelist a goodie... (control freaks always finish last)

Come on TWI, please.... lose the whitelist debacle.

What about a mod for hero uniforms than? Choose your uniform before you spawn.
And a mod for weapon variations like I have suggested some time ago:

- Weapon Variations:

- PPsh with stick mag (35 shots) or drum (71 shots)

- MG-34 with drum (50 shots) or belt with 100 shots! 250 (or 150) shots are to much.
Would be nice if its possible to increase the time you need to set up your MG, when using a belt instead of the drum. Because when you want to shoot with a belt in your MG you have to be sure that the belt is nor twisted.

- Kar98k with/out hood

- Rifles/Mkb with/out bayonet
(with baynonett a little bit more sway would be nice, too)

- different scopes for sniper rifles


With this mods their is no more reason to play on a ranked server, because you get everything for free :D

With progression, upgrades and unlocks we require(?) whitelisting ugh :rolleyes:

One of the many reasons I never liked progression system and in this regard preferred the older ROOST way.

Crashes or potential crashes is mostly an obstacle to get a mutator white-listed. Best approach is to send a PM to both [TW]StragoMagus and Yoshiro. Explain the problem and give them a link to crash reports (.dmp files) and the mutator sources. My suggestion is to do that as soon as possible.

I don't envy having to look through all my stuff though. It's a LOT :eek:

Kleist, uniforms are possible I think. I already managed to randomize the player levels in the game (and therefore their uniforms.) I could probably make it so you can choose what level you would want to play as. Note that this includes the class level dependent stat bonuses.

Hmm random uniform are nice, to select the uniform you want before spawn would be perfect. But have the Hero Bonus because of wearing a Hero uniform... that s*c*s :(
