honestly its never "too soon" to give feedback , and this is one of the problems i see on this forum is that people are hesitant to say what they think for fear of being moderated (which happens often)

I think its great what you guys are doing and im extremely excited to see this mod come to life. but in its current state its just not really presentable imo.

Especially if that is the vegetation you are going to use....

The foliage looks fantastic to me. If you're going to give feed back at least tell them what's wrong with it. The trailer did feel a bit disjointed though.

ledurpy: I feel you've misinterpreted the intent of Nestors post. Obviously we don't just want posts "this trailer is bad, you should feel bad" sort of posts, while some will remain, we prefer posts to offer constructive criticism, and have no problem receiving it and having discussion surrounding peoples observations and/or concerns.

However what Nestor was referring to is people shouldn't be jumping to conclusions that we are not going to have certain features or weapons based on this initial trailer. We have plenty of media releases to come, and we have a lot of content and features we have yet to show. This trailer is to introduce some of our maps. We haven't finished all the models for our US troops yet and as a result, we couldn't use them in this trailer.

Do you plan to keep the same sprinting animations of RO2 in RS? I don't know how (or if) they were trained to carry their weapon while sprinting, but the sprinting animations for the Japanese during the banzai charge in the end didn't look so good :p

Wow, I guess if yoir game doesn't look as good as crysis or BF3 people are going to flame.

OT: Trailer was awesome, as others have said would have loved to seen a first person view, but i can live without. Stoked for this mod since it looks so good and its not that close to release yet either!

I also think it was amazing. Especially the start. The Asian music playing peacefully, then starting to go a little more angry as the voice sounded sorrow as it went into the story of Guadacanal.

Also, maybe Japan could borrow some Flamenwerfer 41s from Germany to balance? Maybe not historically accurate but for a fictional scenario then?

Also, the foliage is fantastic. To see some wild animals running though ie a cow scared away by battleship shellsor aomsething, maybe some dogs let loose by U.S., or general native animals? I mean not needed, its already great looking, but It'd be neat to find yourself jumping from a cow running from a Japanese soldier. I'm not sure why. Something to be laughable about the game, like ARMA's unintentional robot voices. Also: BEEF.

Actually, the Japanese had their own flamethrowers. We were going to include the Type 100 for them but we realised that there were no scenarios where it could actually be used. The flamethrower is an offensive weapon and they used it to great effect in China, but once the Americans started to push them back it was mostly defensive battles and we couldn't find anything to suggest that the Type 100 saw any use against US forces. At least, not for the battles that we're portraying (four of which were shown in the recent trailer, more will be shown in future media releases). There is still potential it may be added at some point, but right now it's likely that it won't make an appearance and the time will instead be spent on our many other weapons.

Totally random idea here but.....

We've talked quite a bit about asymmetric balance as it relates to RO2....what if it got dialed up a notch in RS? Like, Americans get Flamethrowers but the Japanese get....land mines? Player operated mortars?

I think it'd be cool to have several weapons on each side that define the teams and their playstyles and goals.

While I'm not a huge fan of landmines, I think for the Pacific Theatre it makes a lot of sense.

Opening was great, fantastic voice work, music and art. The matinee scenes were good but felt a bit abrupt or odd choices in places.

Although in comparison to media from the RO community including the RO2 trailers it has the most professional feel of them all :)

Awww, you make little Tolya cry. Look, look what they've done to our children..!
