Foolish? nah. Foolish would be not thoroughly cleaning an sks's free floating firing pin so it will slam fire rounds at 1,000 rpm, after the first few shots of course.

makes you wonder why they deviated from the original design and started making the pin free floating... early SKSs had springs on the pin

Production speed/ complexity? Who knows. But hell, with only a 10 round mag, slam firing is fun! (Been there done that, not on purpose) Trust me, mine now gets cleaned quite thoroughly.

Can anyone enhance this? It is the hang tag off of one of my Mas 36 rifles. Any help would be appreciated!

It more than I had. Thanks!

Edit: For something completely different. I was going through my pics on photobucket and found this. Here is how the action works on a K31. (for those that might be curious)

why dont you tell us all? :p
for our prying friends:

I hate to inform you, but you've got an Arisaka T38, cal 6.5x50 mm Jap Arisaka semi-rimmed, not a T99...

Nice one. I wish mine had to full stock...

For more stuff (like the series # and factory etc...) consult here

I like the type 38s more than the type 99's. In the war the Japanese were using more of the Type 38's since the Type 99 was still new and not issued as much. You have a rifle with a lot of history in it. Take good care of it

Graf & Sons sells ammo for 18 bucks a case. 20 rounds. I just ordered 40 rounds and 40 rounds for my M9130. Gonna go out to the desert and shoot in a few days.
