Well, you yanks always get first access to new games while we rest-of-the-worlders have to wait and get jelly, now it's your turn to sit and wait :D
I can't say much because Steam says IL-2 CoD is only available for me on April 19th
I just hope RO2 is released in the same day for everyone, at least on Steam. I actually don't see any purpose in these different release dates and do I hate them!

I might be able to understand it if the physical version was delayed, like in years past. That actually makes some sense, because it takes time to distribute copies of the game oversees, and then you have to deal with foreign distributors, and retailers, yadda yadda.

But it makes absolutely NO sense to delay the release of a digital copy of a game, where there is no inventory, no distributor, and no shipping delay.

3 weeks away for us in the USA. It is not that bad.
Bad for me cause I don't got the rig to run it yet (still looking for a job argh!!). But I suppose it would be mildly selfish to want the release pushed back 3 months just for me :D.

Uhh if Oleg leaves the development team, I'm not sure I want to buy this game.

Ubisoft is known to first force them to dumb down and then completely destroy simulation games (Silent Hunter is ruined, Rainbow Six is converted to dumb status). If Oleg leaves(I know he's very ambitious about his work), they may be forced to submission to evil Ubi's demands.

Well, according to Jason (running 777 studios producing Rise of Flight) who recently posted about this over at SimHQ - according to his source - Oleg stepped down 1.5 years ago and Ilya has been running the show since then:

And as Jason previously has said Ilya is a good friend (they live close to each other in California) I guess the source is VERY close to Ilya

A bit weird that he posts this though, but I guess 1C will not let the lid off now the day before the release in Russia...

So, I really think that there is no "cow on the ice" as we say in Sweden

Ilya is very competent and committed to delivering top notch sims in the same way as Oleg, who will probably stay as a senior advisor and have some role in the development. This situation is maybe even better than before... Oleg gets some deserved rest and Ilya will continue the heritage just fine!

Looks like I'm holding off until they correct all these issues, I don't want to be a beta tester again.

Well im buying it simply to support them, without a successful initial release there is no hope so im happy to contribute. I'd do the same for RO2 if anything would come up simply to show support for developers that care, its a rare genre as it is pc gaming and simulation even more so.

Its sad indeed everything that Ubi comes across they tend to destroy, but remembering IL2's track record and utterly perfect support i've no doubt they'll fix it. They're already removing the filter for the Russian versions asap where 1C is publishing it and they at least ain't being a fking child about it.(no offense meant to anyone with epilepsia)

With or without Oleg this game was still developed with him and Ilya as project lead, his been in the business for about 13 years so maybe he just feels like pursuing something else.

If projects like these fail , theres no one standing around the corner waiting to pickup on a multi million dollar project for a PC exclusive, have faith and support them if you care.

As far as folks are concerned its simply this epilepsia filter causing a massive drop in fps the game itself seems to be as good as promised but yes indeed a sportscar ain't going far without fuel.. just to make things fair.

I'll try and post a fair(none fanboy) review and a couple of videos of how the game runs next week if anyone is suspicious and cares to know, but ye i feel ya man altho i had an upgrade and everything coming anyway for this + RO2.

Its a shame the release will turn out this way. I'd like to pay full price on release, but I feel like I'd rather wait for a Steam sale or something...
