Damn it and I thought I had it safe with the Q9550 :(. Well, it's about time I learn about OC it seems...
I think we'll be overall ok, but I'm guessing the game is going to be heavily CPU dependant given that the recommended specs are mentioning i5/i7 CPU's.

I want all the eye candy :D

Well, if that's the case, and the game turns out very CPU demanding, then I should be fine with an i5 750. Because my HD5570 is rubbish.

I hope the game is very CPU heavy. My i7 930 is a beast, but I'm only running a GTX 260 in graphics. My other concern is that my system's power supply isn't enough. It's a 630 watt Rosewill that I have a feeling isn't supplying my system with enough power ...

@hockeywarrior 630 watt is enough for most gpus in these days. E.g. GTX580 needs about 550W @ full load. You should be fine as long as you are not going for SLi, however I don't know Rosewill brand so good.

Btw: if I understand correctly IŁ-2 CoD require steam activation, so I can register my retail copy at steam?

But the PSU doesn't just power the graphics card. My processor is pretty heavy hardware, which could be stealing quite a bit of power. Rosewill is also a ****ty brand.

The problem is I wont' know until I buy another PSU to find out, and I don't exactly have 100 bucks laying around, nor a job to procure it. Gotta love school!

I think it might be a problem, because in the latest Crysis 2 demo, my PC really struggled, which it shouldn't have given my specs. It would be a shame to finally get my copy of IL-2 and not have a system that is totally prepped for the ensuing awesomeness.

In theory your 630 (?) psu should be just fine.
The CPU/MB & GPU are fed apart.
Correct me if I'm wrong...

Of course not just the gpu. Friend of mine has Q9550@4.0 Ghz, 4Gigs of ram and single GTX 580. His Pc consumes 500W (+/- 5 W). He measured it with professional tool. So you should be fine anyway.

If you are not sure about performance, wait till demo will come out.

630W is plenty for your specs, I'd hazard a guess that your 260 is the proble with Crysis 2.

There are some power testing utilities out there best thing to do is give one a go.

The Crysis 2 demo runs 100% fine at max settings, 1680x1050 res on my GTX 260.

For those saying his PSU is enough, keep in mind that he is not running an Antec. A crappy inefficient power supply is crappy and inefficient. Whatever the issue is, hopefully you can enjoy the game.

Yeah I didn't think it was my GTX 260's fault. I mean the game was running in the mid 20's (FPS) and was stuttering big time.

Possibly mine drops into the 20s, but it seems higher. No stuttering at all - it looks very smooth for me.

Possibly there might be a driver issue, maybe a video card hardware issue to.

Yarg I hope I'm able to get a physical copy here in the states when it releases.

I'd probably go for that to. Manuals in laggy bloated .PDF suck.

And if you have to print it out, then you might as well pay more and get a boxed copy. But if I can save a lot on a download (Steam summer sale?), then I might go that route. Never got into 1946 very much, but I doubt there are as many buttons as there are in LOMAC.

i can imagine it being cpu intensive due to AI, flight dinamics and the like; but i can't see a reasonable gpu being beaten by a flight sim - which surely has less lighting effects, texture stuff and polys being chucked about that a game like crysis.

The draw distance and things like that are quite heavy tho, 1000km, impressive to say the least. But yes it will definitely be more CPU than GPU heavy, but according to the devs they've a lot of features in the code that will unlock as time progresses, computers today just can't handle some of the things that was implemented on such a large scale.
