Maybe you would, but the average gamer is going to jump in expecting to play the final product, basically a demo of sorts. And if the game is buggy they will tell all their friends the game is buggy. So we're going to fix some things up first and get it ready then release the beta. We're not just sitting on a finished beta twiddling our thumbs. i always thought of it as a community based fix up. Men of War had very early beta and turned out a epic finish

So due to the number of DDE sales the BETA *is* being delayed to make sure the "beta" playing masses are given as flawless a platform as possible.

We had a bug we just fixed today where sometimes players would get stuck unable to move after spawning, and had to leave the server and reconnect to fix it. This is an example of the things we're fixing.

Ah, well that makes sense. So the DDE is basically just tagged as having a "beta" when in fact you meant "demo." I think it's kind of disingenuous to bait the community with the promise of assisting in the development when you have no intention of ever having an actual community testing session.

I guess using the term "early access to a playable demo" doesn't sound as exclusive and marketable as a "beta."

I like slow paced games (*cough* RO1 *cough*). Plus it was only $35 with discounts, so no big risk.

whats the point of the beta if you just want to have the full game as the beta? I can understand server side testing and stuff. It looks more and more like the beta is just a way to squeeze an extra 10 bucks out of the impatient.

Jeez chill out... they're just playing to the common misconception of most gamers. This close to release if it was bug ridden people would freak.
