Idea for New Map 'Brandenburg Gate' Berlin

Okay here are some images of the area during 1945.
I hope that it might inspire someone because i really liked the MOD berlin map
aswell as the new Konigsplatz...this would give it a larger, more battle scared,
Odessa like feel. Tell me what ya'll think

I see it being like a cross between Odessa and Konigsplatz...
a nice big infantry map with alot of buildings to cap.
Just coming up with some ideas...
its a beautiful area and would look very nice in RO.

Basically you're asking for an updated version of ro_berlin (just saying that gives me shivers). That last picture is like straight from that map.

Never played the mod RO, but it was my plan to create a map that would focus around the Chancellery...and the Brandenburg gate is rather close to it.

Basicly picture the streets of Odessa...make them larger...open them up like Konigsplatz to get these square areas and set buildings as the cap zones...more or less, thats what my thought is...

I thought it was a building across from the Chancellery. I saw it in a picture of an exterior shot of the post-war Reichskanzlei.

That isn't the Reichstag, the dome would have been showing. I don't know, but maybe Google Earth has the answer!

Google earth is deifnatly handy for alot of things, but keep in mind that alot of Berlin in that area was torn down and reconstructed.

The first image is a map showing (red) Reichstag, (purple) Brandenburg Gate, and (blue) Chancellery. The second is the approximate area of the (blue) Chancellery/Bunker and (red) general area of the building across.

Lol i hope you guys taking some interest in this post is a sign that you guys like the idea...
Id really like to see this be made into a map...this wasnt an area that saw the most action in the city but it still has potention...If this doesnt, infact, appeal too much to people then i hope its an idea that someone will take and run with...making it into something else but with the same berlin/odessa look and feel.
Thanks alot for sdtill posting. i would be doing the mapping myself but im still just learning the editing software for the MOD...
I do know Maya but ive mel scripted my maya up so much that its hard to use the UT editor...
I am also pressured from time...so i would really not be able to produce this in a timely, and even more importantly, high quality manner.

Well, I never played the Mod, but what you propose seems like a good idea. Odessa is my favourite map because it forces teamwork upon you (unless you are with a bunch of idiots). More maps like Odessa would be very good for everyone, although you will need to design an excellent level because it could be disastrous. Good Luck and I hope you are successful, I certainly like the sound of this map.

I agree, we need a uptaded berlin map. Make it larger and that you can enter more buildings, the best thing would be TO enter the RIECHSTAG
