He tossed the coat because it was slowing him down, so now he keeps himself warm by rolling around in the smoldering rubble found all over Stalingrad, and he traded a spare copy of ROOST for the ushanka.
I know it's a different hat and all, but there was a post on the forum wondering whether this guy was in the game. Now we know. Wonder if they changed the hat because his silhouette would look a lot like a German officer's otherwise.

LOL! That's ME!!! My game name is Gnar_Kill, i was really surprised to see me in here. I'M FAMOUS!!! I remember that map, I think I died right after this screenshot was taken.
Anyway, I was at level 14 or 15 and then all of the sudden I popped up to level 80 in one game. I've noticed a lot of people have this glitch. It's a disappointment because I want to level up on my own. I feel like I cheated or something.
It's cool to see what your own character looks like.
about that "Forward" hand animation: has anyone seen it ingame?
seen it in trailers and screenshots but I don't believe I've seen it during gameplay.
wondering if was just created for showing off.
it would be awesome to have this kind of animation ingame, triggered by a group of soldiers sprinting, or something like that.

Haha! Yeah, you and I died, and regardless of all those shots flying at us, your morale boost thing helped my suppression meter stay at max. We were really getting torn apart on that map though.

And to add to your post, i think the screenshots he posted was that of an Elite Rifleman, and the one in your post is a Squad Leader.
I am pretty sure there will be differences for the hero look, between classes.
Thats a super clean hat..he must love that hat...scruffy smelly git never washes but he washes that damn hat.

That's hero status for the Commander. I just played as that character about five minutes ago. xD
hahaha can imagine. everyone else would see him as "the freak who washes his hat, but bathes in his own filth."
At a reenactment once overheard someone ask an RKKA veteran how often he had a chance to wash his uniform. He said "Well it was clean when I got it after Stalingrad, and I remember washing it in the Oder river."
It took me a minute to process that, but he was smiling the whole time and said "We didn't worry too much about that, we just made sure to drink vodka instead of water, so we didn't get sick. Everything else was attacking."
