My grandparents on one side were Polish, forced to leave the country because of the Nazis.
It goes both ways you know.
Exactly. When i went to poland last summer, i had the best time of my life. Many youth who hated the guts out of the soviets but some even ADMIRING the nazi's
Yet the elder.. they had the complete opposite
When i went to nalla huta, i met igor. Who said me the following
"Back in the soviet days, sure we had to shut up, but i had work, house, food everything i needed for my children. Now i worked 50 years of hard honest working, and i AM NOW searching for my food in GARBAGE cans!" Without any doubt did i took the last 100 zloties out of my wallet and gave it to him. I never saw a man so gratefull in his life.
He wassent the only i met who said the exact same ways. When one of our polish guides started this whole anti-soviet talk, a old woman became extremely frustrated and a whole discussion started.
The point is..Soviets nazis, they all killed people. But what the nazi's did was still much and much worse. If you look at the scale what the nazis killed in 6 years and what the soviets did in there history...Its peanuts what the soviets did
BUT i do not support neither faction. What i DO support are the brave soldiers of the Red army, many who knew that they where gonna die. The stubborn yet pride Polish soldiers who gave the germans a hell of a fight, wherever they could organize themselfs. The British and canadians, who liberated my country for the second time...i can continue with this but i have one more thing to add. The common wehrmacht soldier. Who did not gave a frak about hitler but about his country, his home, his family. The only diffrence between the wehrmacht soldier and the common russian, british, allied soldier...was that the wehrmacht soldier had a crazy Racist Austrian in charge and a whole flock of evil bastards who started a war wich killed tens of millions
Some cold hearted people will now answer=YEAH BUT WW2 WAS THE CAUSE OF BAD BAD BAD ALLIES TREATY OF VERSAILLES.. Then i can answer=but World war 1 was the cause of the evil Prussian treatment at the end of the Prussian-franco war...
