It's dirt cheap, full servers easy to find at any time pretty much. There's also Darkest Hour mod for it which has a 24/7 full server as well. (and on weekends multiple full servers)

Bottom line: You won't have trouble finding full matches AT ALL.

If someone bought the game right now, I still feel like they'd have missed out. Obviously RO isn't what it was in 2006-2008 in terms of servers and population. I wouldn't say that 24/7 Danzig is the greatest representation of Ostfront, but I suppose it's better than nothing.

The two TWB servers are almost ALWAYS full. And they cycle through every map in the game including quite a few of the good custom ones.

I'm a European and started playing 2 months ago, and feel I haven't missed out that much. Lol I mean I have missed out on some cool stuff, but I would have missed out on so much more if I didn't finally get into RO =). Will be atleast a couple of months more before RO2 is available, and hopefully RO1 will stay strong during that time =).

I tried it out first time a year ago though, but I disliked that the death messages were on where I played =(. I kind of focused too much on that, but I really enjoy the no DM gaming experience. So instead I played "Insurgency" and "Resistance and Liberation" (HL2 mods).

But the game lacks widescreen support (cutting image to make it fit widescreen isn't support) so it doesn't feel right

How the heck should you do otherwise, stretch the image to fit? I play at 1980x1024 resolution and it doesn't look odd to me.

just got done playing on a full TWB Old Glory for literally 4 hours.....made the mistake of watching a movie, drinking 2 mt. dews and checking to see if anything non-Danzig was populated

always great to see a full non-Danzig/Arad server running stock maps, and getting under 180 ping :IS2:

Both vert- and horz+ are proper widescreen versions. Its just that a lot of people prefer horz+. In RedOrchestra the additional "zoom" from vert- is more advantageous than horz+.

It just glares through that it's designed for 4:3/5:4. I can't get the feel of the weapon when I can only see half of it, so it's hard to hit when shooting from hip.

i played the first ro during the free weekend. it was alright. i didn't like the tanks rolling around in crowded maps, and the tracers looked awful. i decided against buying it since the graphics were so dated.

Started playing 2-3 months ago, the game is cool... first days were horrible, now sometimes i play well after 23 hours of playing time.

A higher map rotation on the servers should be better in my opinion.
