Is it wrong of me to even think that Red Orchestra 2 would be a 'substitute' for a Battlefield game?
Substitute? How can such a superior product can only be a "substitute" for some zany arcade shooter with hand holding 3D spotting?

-BF3 has a suppression system for the Machine gun class. RO2 Has a suppression system for all guns.
Incorrect.
Oh? Source. I read recently that only the LMG had the effect. Even so, the cover and suppression system in RO2 is vastly superior I think.
source would be breaking the NDAits indeed there for all weapons, but in the alpha the visual effect didnt seem to be really be there. most visual effects were either toned down or disabled all together. its kinda crazy to compare the two suppression effects though, RO1 made my almost physically duck...not so much bf3. but again hard to say for sure since it wasnt fully functioning quite yet.
Oh, well only the support class gives you points for suppression or something, I dunno I don't really care.
Screw em.

wait for Skyrim to go on saleIs their anything the wonderful people on this forum have to say to persuade me into the Red Orchestra franchise and help me escape the doubtful outcome of BF3 while consoling some of my doubts about being a lone gamer without any friends in the RO2 community?
What I find neat is that most of the popular FPS's out there today have taken traits of RO:CA or RO1 to make their games better. (Iron Sights on the Model, Locational Damage on Vehicles/Tanks, Suppression Effects, Realistic Bullet Damage based on Location of Hit as well as bullet drop, Having more than one person Operating a Tank, etc.)
And then people in those game's forums come along and trash RO for being crap compared to those games as if they invented all of those things themselves, which usually ended up as poor rip offs of the original thing![]()

I think its a little wrong to imply that iron sights is something that folks looked at RO:CA for, i mean it comes naturally as games progress , i'd say the suppression system and 3d scoping have been taken from RO but having more people in a tank, ironsights etc? :S Says itself that someone would do it sooner or later.
Cod1 did iron sights in 2003 and there were some games/mods that did it even earlier.
