CD, when you kill a man, he is dead, as it should be...

My problem is mainly in the implementation. I have years of experience with America's Army, so I don't baseline have a problem with not respawning. The few CD rounds I've done in FF are just retarded. Germans pretty much spawn in the cap area and shoot you before you get to cover :D

But I only like territory matches

Same here...countdown mode and Fire fight for me are no fun at all. I can see a time where those modes become less and less played as I have a feeling the players who enjoy them are the ones who will be offski when BF3 comes out.

Nissa la bella ( or nice ;)
Same here !

Team death match is just bad amd I'm still wondering what the F it was implemented for RO.

CD could be ok but for now as we don't know the maps it is just silly.
Anyway I'm not a big fan of it. TE will rule them all ( hopefully )

This is remedied by simply knowing the map more. There are certain "approaches" to the objective that are more dangerous than others. CD overall just requires more strategy/knowledge than TE. Not only on a team level but on a personal level as well.

countdown is the best.

all of the other modes are an exciting twist on team deathmatch.

i love the way people have to value their life in CD, knowing that when you kill a guy he stays dead... the round gets very tense towards the end as well. you can actually be a hero.

i also love the other more casual modes too. but honestly, they're a nub shoot on pub server with 30+ enemies constantly respawning.

Territory is still my favorite. There are a purpose to the battles and I don't feel like I have to be in a mad rush to help achieve them. I like when a battle ends up being drawn out and epic. This is the gamemode where I feel more like I am actually there at the scene and that is what I enjoy.

Countdown is interesting, but the constant start/stops/switching sides takes away from the actual battle in my opinion. Its harder to immerse myself into everything. I also feel like I am rushed to do things where I normally would be taking more time. Its not that it can't be fun because I have had fun at times, its just more inconsistent. Its a very clever gamemode that probably works for a lot of players, but between dying and the loading screens, there is too much downtime to enjoy it consistently.

Firefight is probably my least favorite at the moment, but at least with the way the spawn system works, players tend to stick together more. The lack of actual objectives and the very short rounds are what bother me the most. Things are over before you even know what is going on and when that happens, you spend more time with loading screens than actually playing the game. Its also the gamemode where I think most players are more out for themselves than working for/with the team.

Still, all the modes have their purpose and while I will prefer Territory most of the time, I can see myself playing the others occasionally.

Territory for me. Countdown is good once in a while but I tire of it very quickly. Usually after a few rounds of early stupid deaths on my part. I want to play, not wait.

Firefight is totally missing the point of this game in my opinion so I'm not touching that. I'd play cod or even battlefield if that had any appeal to me.

Territory on it's own is good enough for me though.

Any Darkest Hour fans here? What I really miss is their style of Territory maps, which were much more linear in that the fighting for the most part was focused on a "Frontline".

I hope that some of the final release maps are like this, other than that I can't wait for the Rising Storm mod to drop. (Darkest Hour team)

Ya I can see where CD could be fun but,atm the maps are new for me and its mainly madness.Plus im bad to blitz the cap and ignore fire until I get there its a hard habit to break.Learning the maps and a good team and changing my style a bit I can see myself playing CD more.

I like territory as well but I have one big gripe. Respawn times are wayyyyy too short.

Making respawn times longer would mean that making a kill would have SOME repercussion on the game as a whole, since killing someone now only means he has a 0-18 second respawn time, and a 10 second walk (with the general increase in pace in RO2) to be back at the position you just killed him half a minute ago.

Is the respawn length settable on a server level? Or is it a fixed or associated with the map kind of deal? The latter 2 would suck.
