he doesnt rage because someone want the achiv, he rages because someone without experience enters his game just to increase the enemy spawns and just to die in a seconds leaving him with all the job

WHAHHH. GeorgeGee, welcome to life. Get over it. Smart thing would have been just to die and start a new game if it bothered you that much. If you didn't want the guy to steal an achievement, then you should have suicided.

And for all of the people who want to be able to see which wave a game is on, this is what would happen every single time.

LOL today I got presented another type of douchebag that I didn't think there was on Killing Floor.
It was like some dude from Counter Strike and another dude from Combat Arms adopted a child and raised it to have the worst traits of both communities, then put it to admin a server in Killing Floor.
It ranged from having just the basic knowledge of the game and berating all the other players for stupid things in which he was actually wrong (but kept on being offensive nonetheless), to rage map-switch the server after he dies.

Did his name happen to be TTS - Lenny or something along those lines? Easy way of knowing this, does he sound really old and like he's senile and about to die? Lmao kidding about the senile and dying, but he does sound really old

Everyone's favorite server administrator. :D

He blames EVERYONE else for everything else. I usually avoid the fallen angel servers. I think those are his. I can't stand people that blame everyone else for a team wiping or the admins that wants all the kills and kick everyone else who won't take directions of play the perks that they demand.

Hate people who demand that everyone else play support roles.

Nope, I don't think I've ever played with such TTS Lenny, tho I've played on Fallen Angel servers a few times - maybe I was lucky not to come across that individual?
The guy I'm talking about has some IGN like NKT.bkt or something like that; thankfully he doesn't have a mic, he just text bashes everyone on his servers.

I have to say, before the free weekend, the community was brilliant. The free weekend flooded the community with new, low level casual players. Now, I'm definitely not saying the KF community is screwed, but as time goes on, all these new players will become better and better (that's just my take on it).

That's my take too. However, I always thought that one of the problems, while asking these players, is how well-hidden the difficulty is on in the server browser, as they often claim to have had no idea what difficulty there were on. I aswell as a few friends have sometimes played scores of hours before realizing you could check those tiny little bars on the left-most side where the other mostly superfluous information is.
New players are fine in hard and under, especially when they are kind and ask questions.

Not true, at least not always, I play on hard, and there's an enormous amount of frustration to be felt for players who don't know what's going on, don't have the sense to take sharpshooter wave 1 when they don't have a lvl 5 perk, who stand still firing their 9mm's still at wave 10, who ask for money non-stop the entire round so they can buy flamethrowers for their sharp shooters, and who can't contribute at all to the killing. The nice ones who have common sense are rare and precious.

Well, to be honest, you don't need Sharpshooter to be effective in the first wave.

Berserker has beefy melee attacks and damage resistance, plus fast melee running speed.

Medic has universal speed bonus, plus can heal teammates fine with his syringe. Plus, if he finds armor on the ground, he's the next best thing to God.

Commando has health scan plus universal reload bonus.

Support can run around and go weapon hunting for funds.

And that leaves low-level Firebug and Demo, which, yes, are not ideal for a starting round.

Just had another ridiculous player.

I joined a game, and I was dominating it as Bersermer (5 of us on HoE), then randomly the Admin changes to Berserker, and says "omg we dont need 2 berserkers" and bans me from the server.

I just don't understand some people.

I can feel your pain on that one. Just wait until you get kicked for being the top-fragging sharpshooter without really trying. That support spraying his AA12 at single clots? He's the admin that gets pissed off and bans you for "aimbotting."

There's a few server names I actually remember to avoid. The good news is that there are plenty of servers out there!

No big deal. I was booted for being a noob from this 1 server. Well actually I left on my own before they could boot me, but out of courtesy, I dropped my weapon and emptied my pockets.
Get over it; people are by default savages. I learned to expect it out of everyone, including myself as well.

If your ever looking for a friendly server and friendly fire server you should check out my server I am not on as much any more due to work. But when I am on I think I am a decent admin, and don't abuse the power as it is there only to kick low levels and tkers/morons. Really a standard server really nothing special about it but at the same time provides a challenge for those that are board with teammates spamming bullets and nades at eachother with no concerns.

Yes it's another one of these threads.

I joined an empty HoE server on Manor...
//rant over

To sum up, I hate this community.

That sucks to get two people joining you who don't have a clue. There's still plenty of good people out there who aren't annoying like that. Although it might be good if the game actually warned people before joining a HoE server with at least one perk level 0, "are you sure?"

There's plenty of new people to the game who have some social graces and can function in a team. Even since the free weekend I've had plenty of good games recently. On the flip side it's the first time I've had whole teams of useless people, but completing a map in those circumstances is so much more rewarding.

New players are important to keep the game going for longer, but to keep the community on the right path we have to lead by example.

playing on public is always sucks, not only in KF... IN ALL GAMES

Edit: ok maybe not "always" but mostly

Being in public sucks in real life as well, being stuck in crowds of sheeple. I'm glad I rarely buy anything anymore, not only do I save money, but I save a headache of being around people. I quit a job working with the public, and got a factory job. The pay is a lot better, but best of all, I only have to talk to 4 or 5 people.

I did public service jobs for a long time, and you would be amazed at how stupid most people are, that isn't being elitist, just honest.

Far as lenny goes, my one experience with him was when I was incredibly drunk, he was whining and complaining on the mic for 7 straight waves on suburbs HoE. I can't remember what it was about, but I remember thinking he sounded like a 12 year old girl, not in voice, but in the way he complained about stuff. I stayed for the amusement value. I met a couple of other people in his clan, and both of them were incredibly terrible players.

Yes it's another one of these threads.

I joined an empty HoE server on Manor, I started alone and got myself all the way to round 9 alone (Berserker w/ Katana & LAR rounds 1-6, Medic w/ Xbow + Dual HC rounds 7+), and someone joined mid round, I asked him what perk he'd be using, he replied "idk xD", I then went on to ask what levels his perks are, he said "idk 3 I thinK", he then exclaimed that he joined to get an easy HoE map achievement. Obviously I didn't want to go through round 10 with him as he's only level 3 and there for the achievment.
So I votekicked him but it requires 2 people, so I tried to get him to leave by kiting a clot around the map for about 10 minutes, fortunately someone else joined and assisted me in kicking him.
I then killed the clot and gave that guy all my money (

Gotta love when some asshole orders you to weld a door, then nadecides himself, blowing up the said door then leaves, saying "im tired of having my games ruined by nooblets".

The nooblet then spent 20 mins kiting the 100 specs you left behind, THANKS A LOT

I like the idea of being able to change it where low leveled perks can't touch HoE servers. Kinda a strain playing one and you have just that one LLL (Low Leveled Loser) with the wrong perk, spends about 3K pounds on the M203, dies in a bout 20 seconds and leaves you on the 10th wave with about 100-200 of the bastards.

Even worse is having to kick ol Kevin's *** when his health is doubled.

The community is getting new people, which is a good thing, and also a bad thing for us experienced, L6s. But that's the way of things isn't it? The exact same discussion happened when TF2 went F2P. ._.

Gotta give some to get some. Personally, I'm glad the community has new meat, gives more fodder on my server and running around chopping heads off while stabbing the slackers with a syringe every so often. Its fun heck. :D

Having a great time.

Even when you're the last standing.

Or get pwned while helping by that Ninja Nutpounder (Yes, you know who that is. ._.)

But even maxed out at perk, its still fun to come back and just go nuts on the ol ZEDs. :D (This is hilarious, given the Pyro's weird tastes, oh look he found a Husk's gun!)

I'd say the community's still very much alive and still playing, even if the game n engine is 'dated'. :3

I don't really play to win so I'm not invested in the game enough to get angry when someone messes up and with that out of the way, I have to say I had some great, civil, fun games on Normal and Hard recently (my highest perk lvl is 4). Fun, talkative (or typative, as it were) players... Reminded me of the mod days.

Just so that perspective isn't completely buried in rants about this or that idiot who didn't get the game as well as you all and either did or said something wrong.:p

A New Player's Perspective

A New Player's Perspective

From the perspective of a new player, my experience has been mixed so far. I've had fun with the game, but there are some major frustrations.

Some background: I'm not new to FPSs. I've played L4D2 and source-mods like Dystopia in addition to everything from Crysis to Serious Sam. I'm not a great player, but I'm no slouch either. I got the game over the free weekend because my roommates and I are always looking for a multiplayer shooter to play together. I've put about 40 hours into the game and most of my perks are level 2-4.

I played a few games on beginner to mess around with things and I've played all the other games on normal. The game itself is engaging and there is a good progression system for people who really want to sink time into the game. I like it a lot, but the players have either been meh at best or game-ruining at worst. I went through most of the info on the wiki before playing normal. I try to pick up as much information and strategy as I can when I start playing a new game, especially one where teamwork is as important as Killing Floor. As a level two firebug I know not to piss off a skrake, whereas my level 4 sharpshooter can easily deal with them. I'm not ready for HoE yet, but I'm probably going to start playing on hard for more challenge.

I can't say as much for most of the people I've played with. They don't know basic things like not shooting an FP with a bullpup, or running off with off-perk weapons to go rambo on the zombies. The few higher level people I've seen are not good and I don't think earned their rank. For example, a level six medic joins a game in progress and proceeds to not heal anyone and constantly begs for money. He then goes off solo to kill to hog kills and gets himself mauled by a skrake. Between people refusing to be team players and others doing stupid things and getting themselves killed the game is a lot more frustrating than it should be. I don't know what the community was like before I joined and I don't think I've played with the better players, but from my perspective the community has not been great. It has gotten to the point that I'm considering getting a private server.
