No, the loader is an "AI" bot. So he'll do all the loading. I'd imagine you don't have to physically move from gunner to commander, but instaswitch between the two, like you would if single tanking and going between driver and MGer.

I doubt they'd model it to this extent, but loading would be slower with the T-34 while traversing the turret, due to the lack of a turret basket, I believe.

I believe the developers have stated that moving from one position to another in a tank will be fully animated, but this is only when moving from one position to a vacant one. Switching control from one crewmen to another will be instantaneous, I think.

So in the T34, the Commander and Gunner are the same, (excluding the instaswitch between live crewmen at this point), and in the Pz IV the Commander and Gunner are two separate tankers/animations?

Just looking for that distinction that generally gave a five man crew an advantage over a four man one....

I believe so. I'd prefer to have the option for a 4th player for Panzer IV, but I'm not making the game.

Was it not said that there would be four player slots for the five man Axis tank. I know I already wrote the same thing before but I'm buggered if I can remember in which interview it was stated.

Help me, help me...

from how Alan explained it to me when i interviewed him at PAX, the above is correct. if there is a "warm body" (alive) bot in the position, then switching to that position will be instantaneous; animations will only be there if there is no "warm body" present in that position.

the maximum amount of humans per tank is 3, regardless of axis/allies......at least that's been confirmed for the t34/76 and pIV.

i'm still a bit confused on the issue of commander/gunner. the way i see it is mostly a visual thing.....as in if you're looking around, you'll see a total of 5 "crew" if there's a seperate gunner and commander spot like in the pIV. however because one of those would be AI and thus a "warm body" switching between the gunner and commander spots would still be instantaneous......if that's correct then my question would be: if the AI that is filling the gunner/commander gets killed, would you have to go through animations to switch between gunner/commander?

It has been confirmed that the t34/76 got 3 humans however the pIV got 4 human player slots.

Most likely the pIV got a separate commander while in the t34/76 the gunner and commander are the same.

When was it confirmed the pIV got 4 slots? I recall Ramm mentioning there are 5 tankers modeled, but it sounded like the commander and gunner would be one player again.

Isn't like that for PIV:

5 modeled tankers (driver, MG/radio operator, gunner, commander, reloader)
4 playable slots (driver, MG/radio operator, gunner, commander)

is it?
