In RO: 1 some weapons were available in some maps and not others because they weren't in those battles. Just because the game is named 'Heroes of Stalingrad' doesn't mean the battles have to take place in Stalingrad.

I say Tripwire should release maps across the Eastern Front such as the Battle of Leningrad where we get the weapons used during that battle, and in the battles of Stalingrad we gets those weapons. So MG42s to pick from in Leningrad, and just the MG34 in Stalingrad because the MG42 was hardly there. Think of all the possibilities!

That way we can have all these weapons:

MG42,
STG44
Panzerschrrek
Tiger tank
G43
MP 3008
Panzerfaust
FG 42
Flammenwrfer m.16
SG-43
Fedorov Avtomat
(full auto)
RPG-43

And troop transports that came out
And more!

That way we are preserving historical accuracy, allow us to have a lot more guns, vehicles, and maps.

But not to mention the ones that were in Stalingrad like the Luger, and
The Browning Hi-Power
Walther PP
Flammenwerfer 35 (Would be pretty cool!)
Kampfmesser 42
PPD-40 (small numbers, given to soldiers so there were more automatic weapons)

The title was supposed to say, "And maps from all of the Eastern Front"

I think the quality of the weapon models + animation and vehicles are realy great in this game. We all know that Tripwire will release new content in the future and i am realy excited about this.

This game has still a lot potential, and i would also like to see some post 1943 technology like Panzerschreck/faust, K43, MG42 and others. Mayby in an free Ostfront DLC ;)

The SKS could be a "RARE" hero weapon as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SKS

Watched a thing on the history channel about assualt rifles and they said some special forces units got there hands on it during WWII. but it was VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY rare.

I don't think that TWI will add weapons/maps out of the Stalingrad area. They would basically hurt the own game by taking away sth (or in this sense, giving away sth) that is not related to the title of the game: Heroes of STALINGRAD.

However, I could imagine that sooner or later, they consider a plan to make a RO 2: Eastern Front Add-on, that includes weapons and maps from all the russian front. I know, it's just speculation, but when you have a look into the whole industry, you'll see that every developer is running this system. Just some examples:

Empire: Total war, followed by Napoleon: Total war
Civ IV and Civ V added new civilizations from different time periods
Racing games, giving away new car types as DLC
and so on, and so on.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if TWI, once HOS is fixed and considered: FINISHED with all content additions, would bring a standalone add-on that would bring the whole Ostfront back again.
BUT: there are several points that they would have to keep in mind and deliver in order to make me buy it:

1. Price not higher, rather 20% lower than RO 2 HOS
in the end, the major development is already done
2. The add-on shall not result into a split of the community, meaning that RO 2 HOS owners are unable to play with Add-on players on HOS maps
3. Servers must be able to either run HOS only, or are allowed to combine both

Well, we'll see what happens. I just doubt that TWI will counter it's own game, that limited it to the Stalingrad scenario, without making an extra buck out of a whole Eastern Front game.

I like all of that.

There needs to be more maps and more weapons.
Just more.

More will save RO2.

More weapons is what we don't want. Look at what the MKB42 did to the game. Plus, there were no MKB42s in Stalingrad.
